I had no issues with the 1.68 Luci update. Did you do the complete check files first before you installed?

If the dmd is not working at all, even in test mode, than I am at a total loss. Sorry, but unless pulling the battery clears settings you will need someone with alot more experience than me, or wait till Monday and call 1-800-kickers.
Now if the dmd works in test mode, I would suggest reinstalling yes. If nothing still, try going back a revision and downloading again.
