Thanks so much for the kind words! I love seeing all the homebrew builds. It's my favorite thing on pinside, so if the kit helps someone to get started, its great! I know building my own has been the most rewarding hobby that I have done.

I came from having very little experience and only some light tools and the homebrew kit really helped get us going. None of it is rocket science and if you go slowly step by step and leverage Ernie and his Discord channel you will move faster than you think! We chose the FAST bundle and we found their instructions and tutorials to be intuitive and Aaron helpful and responsive and that also helped give us confidence to keep going. Anyways, good luck with your decision and hope you decide to take the plunge!

For a noob with no coding experience how hard is it to get up and running??? How hard is it to code sound,music, pictures on a LCD screen? I own 5 pins now but don't know nothing bout computers

As far as the coding for the switches, coils, these come pre programmed (with additional items precoded that dont come with kit as well such as targets, etc) and I would say are fairly simple to configure. This step is more a define and config each component of the game.
For the sound and music, and simple modes, I would say its fairly simple with limited knowledge and def not impossible. There are a few groups that offer assistance with road blocks, theres a whole MPF site with examples and explanations, with the FAST kit they have their own group that also offers coding help. I am also a source of help (if purchase kit or not) when working through items as well.
I won't say its easy, but I believe someone with limited computer knowledge can learn and work through their way through it. I would say that someone who has a more technical mind that can work through problem solving will catch on easier.
What I will say, regardless if you purchased a kit or not, this has been the absolute most rewarding hobby I have done for myself. The sense of accomplishment is great as you work through creating a game. Feel free to PM me with any questions at all.

its not trivial but is definitely doable. I am a total noob and my sons and I have got the hang of the basics. You need to be totally committed and driven and be ready for some frustration the first couple of weeks. But there is a huge community of folks to leverage that can help! Do it!

Still doing kits and playfields, two of my own custom games will be at Southern Fried in ATL this next weekend. Both started out very similar to the kits I sell.

Me and the boys assembled our cabinet flatpack from Trident and are beyond thrilled with how it came out! Ernie included ratchet straps to help with gluing it overnight as well as video instructions for the build. If you need a cabinet please consider buying one and building it yourself…its super rewarding!

Message me before placing an order for the next few weeks. Have a few kits and cabinets I am focusing on getting out and has taken me longer than I'd like. Don't want to have any one angry with me on shipping time, so would prefer to reach out prior to ordering.
I am also working on getting my own large format CNC so I don't have to depend on any one else to get orders cut. That has been a large hang up on time.

Also, likely stopping international shipments for now. The rates for shipping have went high enough that it makes it not worth it. If you’re international and want to cover whatever shipping is, I am fine with this but has doubled or even tripled from what it was 6 months ago.
Also have cabinets that will be going out shortly, have had some delays with my cnc guy. Hopefully soon will have my own large format cnc

I am removing cabinet flat packs from my shop until I can get my own commercial CNC. All current orders will be fulfilled shortly, just been waiting game with shop fitting me in where they can on weekends for small runs.
