I have a TAF that I was replacing insert lamps on/converting to LEDs, and I noticed there seems to be an intermittent issue with the little-twisty-plastic-bulb sockets.

I've tried bending the contact points up and reinserting, changin bulbs, swapping them with others that do work, reseating the connectors, etc.

Do I just need to buy a few new little-twisty-plastic-bulb sockets? Or is there something else I can do to get them to work consistently?

Thanks!

Bump. Getting ready to LED my WCS, and I'd like to know too.

Most likely the pins on the cable connector socket on the lamp PCB that have dry jointed. Re-flow the solder on these to eliminate that and probably correct the issue.

I sometimes spread out the little wire slightly to the side. tHAT seems to work every time.

What brand of LED? Sometimes you have to bend the LED connection wires out to the edge sometimes. If they are single wire LED they go in a certian way. If it doesn't work with the wires bent out on the blub, then turn the black twist in 90 deg and try again (If single wire led). If the bulbs turn off/on when you wiggle the connector then you have cold solder joints and they need reflowed

I tried rearranging the prongs, I forgot to add that in the initial post, but it probably is an issue with the wires/prongs since applying pressure to the molex cures the issue!

Definitely reflow the header pins on the lamp boards during your shopouts.

I've noticed in the last few years that I have to replace more and more if the twist sockets in games. They do wear out.
