TRIAC Replacement

The white flashers at the back of my Road Show are locked on and will eventually destroy themselves if I don't correct the issue. The manual shows those LEDs are linked to Q14 which is a BT138-500E TRIAC, which appears to be no longer available. That said, you can get a BT138-600E which has all of the same characteristics but is rated for 100V more.

Would this be a suitable replacement?

The 600 will be fine, just a better voltage rating which won't make any difference.

Quoted from Bud:

I've read elsewhere that the 'E' is important as it has something to do with keeping the gate current low. Any idea if this is an 'E'. Seems pretty expensive versus the 600E on Digikey.

I believe Bally and Williams of that era only used Triacs on the GI so they could dim them in attract mode. I think the flashers are all on bipolar transistors.

@hammerhead, Hold on there pardner.....
While it is true that the flasher is driven by Q14, that Q14 is located on the 8 Driver Board instead of the large Power/Driver board.
The 8 driver board is located in the upper right of the head.
You want to use a TIP-102 and not a TRIAC as Pinball_Postal indicated.
