Better than wax? Yes. Multi-step machine polishing is hands down better than plain wax at obtaining a deep shine. I've used the kit and gotten good results in polishing up the mylar. Don't see any problems with swirl marks but care must be taken with the 2-in wavy pad due to the potential for burn thru on unprotected areas - guess how I know.
