Hello,

Finished my Transformers pro restoration and tested it for the first time.

I have following problems when firing up the machine.

Tilt pendulum error
Through jam error

Also non of the pop bumpers work.
Megatron Canon does not work either.

Did a complete teardown of the playfield also under the playfield. Did not touch the boards on the backbox. Could somebody give me an idea where to search because it is my first Stern Pinball.
Thanks

Found the problem : blown F8 fuses but now I have a strange issue.
In switch test my left slingshot also triggers the Megatron Jam switch.
Anybody an idea where I need to find the problem?
Thanks

Check the diodes on the switch and check other switches in the row and column.

before you check anything, here is a great video that explains the switch matrix...

This video explains this in more detail but can be confusing for some folks:

This is my situation.

Right EOS switch is permanent open because of broken leaf switch. Will swap it with a full new flipper rebuild kit.

If I trigger left slingshot it still triggers the Megatron Jam.

Both triggers are right under eachother in the matrix but I cannot find a square or triangle.
Tested diodes on megatron through and left slingshot and had good readings.

Your trough switches in row 2 are also closed, so any of them could be forming a rectangle with a faulty diode. Try taking the balls out. Do you still get the phantom closure?

If so, try closing trough switches one by one and testing again. Maybe you'll narrow it down to one trough switch and can find the faulty switch from there.

Also check 43 and 44, maybe move Optimus to the other position and test.

Replaced right EOS switch.
Removed all balls.
Both EOS are closed. When triggering left slingshot it still trigger Megatron Jam.

Do not have an idea anymore.

Left return lane also triggers Megatron lock 1

Strange

In my restoration I changed all three pop bumper led holders which are connected to an dots.
Could this cause the problems because I maybe wired them incorrectly?
Pop bumpers do work normal in switch test though.

I would say yes, seems like something is wired wrong someplace

Those are lampwires.
All the switches do work. Will take a look at it but I think it could be the Optimus Prime switches or diodes.
First time I have this issue with a pinball machine.

Last update for today before burning this machine.
Disconnected the Megatron through assembly under the playfield and tested the left slingshot. There was no ghosting switch now. Tested the left return lane and there was no ghosting switch.

Is the problem then the Megatron through, opto boards?

I might try to bypass the diode at switch 38, Megatron lock 4. Now test switch 26m left slingshot. If switch 42 closes, check switch 22, trough jam.

Same process to check switches 39, 40, & 41. Suspect switches 23, 24, or 25 if the error shows up while testing them.

I can't tell in the manual where the diodes are located for switches 38-41. On a board near the trough maybe?

Pin_Guy I thought optos showed as closed in switch test if there was no ball present? That doesn't seem to be the case here. Wired backwards?

What do you mean with bypass the diode? What do I need to do for that?

Diodes for switch 38-41 are located under the micro rollover switch in the Megatron through assembly.

Where can you find the positive and negative side of a pop bumper #555 led holder?

Switched one wire of one pop bumper to those dots board near the pop bumper but nothing changed.
