So I have been toying with our next pop bumper launch and need some feedback. This would be a custom metal cast like Tron and others with transparent back fill resin. What do you think so far?

Interested as the factory pop covers leave a bit to be desired.

#4 3 years ago

so sorry I didn't get back to you on this project Robert...this is exactly what I was talking about. Something like you said that could be used on all three and this nails it...i'll be in

#5 3 years ago

I like it!

#6 3 years ago

I dig it...Kind of tough to see the pops though, so not sure if it's worth all the effort.

Two are more hidden on the LE/PRem I have seen.
Thinking lock down bar emblem with the pop kit as the extreme dress up kit.
Pops first lock down next....what do you think?

How many interested bump I need a solid base to move forward with the project.

definitely interested here

Can the fill resin be purple?

#13 3 years ago

Feeling the love for TF LE -„Äč I am in!!!

Quoted from Rickwh:

I tried to match the resin red to autobot side and purple to decepticon side. I reversed the colors to contrast the split PF colors -hoping to make it pop more (pun intended ). With this being a low production machine need to keep them as uniform as I can to keep production cost down. The honeycomb back round also will define the split down the middle.

Another question. I am looking at making the lock down bar into a 3d emblem rather than the standard sticker...any feedback on that?

YES!!! my sticker is wanting to curl.on the edges and peel up - a 3-D version would be awesone

#16 3 years ago

I'd keep it all decepticon. The pops are all relevant to a decepticon anyway and I have yet to see a split logo that i think actually looks better than just a normal decepticon or autobot logo.

#17 3 years ago

Spinning gears on top of the pops would be pretty amazeballs and tie into the game really well. Not sure the logistics of pulling that off. But that would rock.

#18 3 years ago

Agree with the all 3 deceptigon as well.

Id love something for the lock down. The sticker is gonna come off eventually. I treat it like its made of glass.

If the quality and finish is anything like your Ironman pop caps Rob I know at least 2 people who would be interested in a pop kit.

I'd say deception design is best or maybe devastators face/mouth/gears as he's represented on the dmd in relation to the pops, if my memory is serving me correctly?

Yes movie devastator is the character associated with the pops. Artwork on the center insert and on dmd.

Can someone get me a picture to go off of...never having played game makes it a bit more difficult.

Strike that....just watched some youtube. As far as I can see the animation has an outer ring that moves around an inner ring. We are getting more detailed with the pops but thats a bit out of reach at this time

As a center shot he would be easy along with the green mouth but his image would take up the majority of the pop itself leaving very little light. I googled some shots of him ...Could do just a variant of his face with a green mouth.

The pops are already dim so more light is better.

I will take a set

These look to be smaller like acdc. Can anyone get.a clear shot of the left lower near ramp. Looks to be missing a cap like sttng.

That will work. Ok so they are small.
The front left looks like stern left the plastic off. is there an obstruction or just a height difference?
They used domes mine are slim line. Just need to know if a standard 50mm round will fit there or can we go 60mm.

#31 3 years ago

Its a terrible design for light, but the upper starscream ramp has feet that sit right on the pop plastic basically blocking all the light from the pops. And from the players position you cant see them anyways. I added a GI spotlight in there to help give some light back there.

#32 3 years ago

Heres a couple pics i had in my phone from when i was installing cliffys a few weeks ago.

You can see the lower left pop well and the leg of the upper ramp assembly that sits on the top of it.

Ok playing my game now and I see the interaction of the DMD with the pop action.
Maybe toothed edges face like this - back filled with a green to let light out of the mouth.
