Quoted from Fieldsweeper:

Pff, Ain't no one gonna buy that from you. LOL jk. Thanks again for delivering this for me.
Not sure if this is a "dead" thread or not but as a first pinball machine for me and new owner to this game thanks to mrm_4 I wanted to browse around for the
owners thread" but seems like this is the next best thing? I see some other machines with an owners thread.
I do have one question. Is the ball supposed to bounce off Primes nuts and onto the plastic? or do I have the let right leveling off? also is it possible to turn off the flickering effect mid game that matches the music because Damn that is annoying especially in low light situations. I cannot quite tell which bulbs its coming from.
Also how can I find covers for the LEDs? I believe these were not originally LED? but some of the lights are directly in your face and diffusing it would be more of a pleasant experience?
I thought about splicing a variable resistor in the wiring for the blubs but figured that's a waste of time and effort. unless light covers for pinball LEDs do not really exist?
If anyone has any suggestions on this game like settings to set etc I would be happily open to hearing them.
Thanks

If you’re talking about the plastic over Bumblebee then yes. The ball will also bounce off of Prime and shoot through the rubbers and go into the mini playfield sometimes! Primes nuts must really be bouncy!

Quoted from Yesh23:

I have an Autobots LE and it has leg winking bad. Can anyone point me to a place I can buy a decal set?

any pictures of it?

All four areas around the legs on mine were wrinkled when I bought my machine last August.

I was able to fix them all by heating them up with a heat gun and reapplying them.
Then I cut around the legs and my leg protectors so it doesn't reoccur.
It's good as new and has not happened again.

Quoted from YZRider926:

I will be putting mine up for sale soon. Wish I could keep it but I just don’t play a lot of my pins these days and I have other things I could put the money towards.
Still a great game though, but ready to move on and maybe get another Gomez game, thinking DP premium eventually.

I have both TFLE & DP premium and you will definitely not be disappointed with DP premium. Only thing is that TF quality is better than DP... IMO.

I always think I can get rid of TF but every time I play it its a blast, I love the theme, the flow and the sounds/sound effects. I think if I ever get rid of it I would regret it.

#946 3 years ago
Quoted from YZRider926:

I hear you. I also have LOTR and MBr so I figure moving on from this one won’t be a big deal. Who knows when or if I’ll ever get a DP though. My reason for selling won’t be to find another pin at this point.

Yeah makes perfect sense. Right now I have six games and really like all of them and the mix of designers. 2 Steve Ritchie, 2 Gomez, 1 Eric Meunier and 1 Scott Danesi.

Adding another will eventually happen (no rush) but I wouldn’t want to have 3 games by the same designer in my somewhat small collection. I’d like to have a Keith Elwin game but just not looking forward to buying another of Stern’s over priced poor quality games. We’ll see what Keith does next and if it’s not something I’m interested in then I might be adding JP eventually.

Does anyone here know of any options to the back board of TF?

I don’t really care for the black and white and or the imagery.

Quoted from northerndude:

Still better than my Monopoly, ha! A.....red.......board

Ha ha, that is shitty!!!

Quoted from EchoVictor:

Hey all,
Getting back into my TFLE after it being wrapped in plastic while I finished my basement. Decided to upgrade in a few spots.
First off, I changed out the Bumblebee that I had previously mounted above the Extra Ball sign. The regular Transformer toy's joints I had up there (https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/transformers-club/page/3#post-2754384) weren't as robust to the shaking/nudging as I'd like, so I replaced him with an "action figure" type toy. In fact, he's from the same series ("Robo-Fighters") as the other Bots on the game (Prime, Starscream, and Ironhide).
[quoted image]
Pop the figure's legs off, and the posts mount right in between the bulb housings on the back of the sign. I am working on a custom bracket right now to make the mounting a bit stronger.
Later,
EV

Looks cool.

Quoted from EchoVictor:

Second mod I did was inspired by Neo's custom Megatron he did in this thread;
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/custom-megatron-for-tf-le-decepticon
I've never liked the stock Megatron either, so I decided to go with the same "Robo-Fighter" line figure for him as well. After reading about the difficulty Neo had with his conversion, I looked to see if I could do something simpler. If you leave all the bracketry in place, you can remove the stock moving Megatron rather easily.
First, you unscrew the two Philips head screws holding the plastic on his back with the single red LED. This plastic from his back can just be wedged into the layers of the plastics under the cannon, and pointed back towards Starscream. I may try to unplug this underneath the playfield, and then wire in a new LED that I could mount inside Megatron to make his eyes glow...
Stock condition with plastic moved
[quoted image]
Then, there is one pivot rod up high that holds him to the big mounting bracket, and one pivot rod lower that connects him to the motor/actuator. Remove the simple "E" clip on one end of the rod, and you can remove the stock figure.
Old and New
[quoted image]
Then, all I did was pop the legs off the "Robo-fighter" figure, and pose him so that he wedges on top of the pre-existing bracket. I'm still working on another custom bracket to make him more stable. For now, he's jammed in there pretty tight.
Only other thing I had to do was to tape the actuator rod to the new figure's back, and then go into the Adjustments Menu and disable the Megatron Motor, so that the rod wouldn't move.
Current state
[quoted image]
Overall, I think he looks much better.....plus this mod is completely reversible.
Later,
EV

this looks pretty good.

I hate the crappy Megatron on this machine.

just ordered one on eBay, thanks!

if you get a chance (please) take a picture zoomed out enough to see what these look like with the entire playfield in the picture.

thanks!

Quoted from EchoVictor:

Final mod I did was to grab these little figures of Mudflap and Skids, whom I refer to as "the Idiots".
A little bit of two-sided tape, and they perch right above their stand-up targets.
Later,
EV
[quoted image]

also very cool.

I bought mudflap and skids die cast cars to set on top of that plastic. I just need to get motivated to install them.

I'm thinking once I receive the new Megatron figure I will get them both done at the same time!

thanks for posting the ideas and pics!

Sell your GNR CE for 20k (or more) then trade me your AF for my GNR LE and buy my TF autobots LE so I can buy a Keith Elwin pin. And, you’ll still have left over cash for something else.

Man this hobby makes us think crazy stuff, huh?

Quoted from northerndude:

I went to a thrift store and bought a bag of dinky cars for $3 that had a yellow sports car in it. My original got banged up and fell apart

Just curious.... how are the cars getting banged upon these games?

I must not be paying to much attention to what even happens in that bumblebee car area...

#987 2 years ago
Quoted from Trekkie1978:

Just constant abuse from getting hit from the Newton ball.

I wouldn’t have thought that would happen from the little movement in that area. Oh well.

I have a wry nice TF with not a plays on it so mine should be good for a while. I hope.

Maybe I’ll pick up a spare though.

#990 2 years ago
Quoted from Trekkie1978:

That’s what happens. Roof breaks.
I have around 5 extra cars to be on the safe side.

So I should look for a convertible Camaro then?

Quoted from snyper2099:

Yes, and when you lite them all solid, that means that you have completed that "sides modes" and for Autobots, you qualify "Roll Out" mini wizard mode... for Decepticons, you qualify the "All Hail Megatron" mini wizard mode.
For ALL LIT SOLID, you qualify "Battle for Cybertron" main wizard mode.
Most people that own this game don't even know that you can can play all the modes for both Decepticons and Autobots, no matter what side you pick at the start of the game.

We know… we also know it’s impossible! Or at least at my skill level… I think so.

Quoted from Stealy70:

How hard is this playfield to remove from the cabinet? I have art blades to put on and this playfield is a tight fit.

Not difficult at all. Just get a friend to help.

If you have a table that’s tall enough set it next to the machine and set right on there. There’s enough wiring so you don’t even need to disconnect anything.

I have art blades on mine and it’s tight but you just have to be more careful when lifting/dropping the playfield.

I use my tool chest and roll it right up to the machine like this…

Hope no one minds me posting this here…

I have a beautiful Autobot LE that I’m going to post on pinside for sale by this weekend. Just have to take some better photos and create the ad.

Just wondering if anyone here is interested.

PM me if you are.

In the meantime here are some pics I had on my phone;
