I played a friends Transformers LE today and noticed the tilting right upper playfield mech has become quite lazy in operation. In coil test the right coil moves the mech quite well but the left coil is pretty weak. I re-seated the coil connector but without my tools I couldn't do much more. Has anyone come across this before? I'm thinking maybe a mushroomed coil plunger, coil stop or sleeve. Any pointers welcome, it looks quite tricky to dismantle. From below the playfield it looks like removing a few nuts will release the whole mech but there's a fragile looking ribbon cable going from it through the backboard to a small pcb.

Is there a guide/instructions anywhere on how to remove the upper right rocking playfield?

Has anyone ever had trouble with ball detection on the rocking upper playfield? I've just shopped a friends LE combo including taking the rocking playfield out, now I've put it back together and the upper playfield isn't scoring during the ironhide mode. Ball is bouncing back and forth, the 3 red leds up the center are lighting but not the 2 side ones, but no scoring. Removing it entails disconnecting the ribbon cable going through the backboard, I'm guessing my issues may stem from there. There are 4 small black semiconductors up the middle too, are these what detect the ball passing over them?

Quoted from Rickwh:

I believe those detect the ball rolling over them. Thats why the holes in the shield are there. Should line up above each detector. The holes in plastic allow you to test them in switch test mode.
In fact switch test mode is where is go next.

Thanks for the reply, as I suspected, however these aren't detecting anything. Before I removed the mech ball detection was getting a bit flaky, I'm going to remove the mech again ( a fair bit of work, ramps and plastics have to be removed first ) and reseat the ribbon cable on the underside of the mech. Failing that I'll order a new ribbon cable and pray that fixes it. If it's the board I can't imagine how much that would cost, if you can even get one!

Update, seems 2 of the traces/connections on the end of the ribbon cable got pushed back when inserting into the little connection board shown in the photo above. I managed to straighten them and reinsert, all working now.

Quoted from BOBCADE:

Is there two flashers on the LEs left ramp? The test menu says x2 just like the slings but I only see flash and can find the one behind starsceam at the backboard emblem.
If anyone can throw their machine in test to see I could use the assist as the manual is kind of lacking.

Yes there are 2, one under the flat section of the left ramp ( a few inches after the steel ramp ends ), and one behind the starscream round plastic.

Was there some games with factory Mylar in a strip protecting where the megatron scoop fires diagonally? It’s been years since I sold my combo and swear it had it. My recently acquired Decepticon edition does not and I’m considering to add.

There's a 1" x 3" piece of mylar from the scoop to the drop target on the borrowed combo I have here.

Thanks and I do have this, don't know why I had a brain fart thinking it wasn't there.
Anyhow anyone have a Decepticons edition topper to show off? I think I may make something, just not sure yet.

I didn't realise there was a topper?
