Hello all. I picked up a Pinbot that is let’s say... some assembly required. It dose not have the original transformer seller has a transformer from an F-14 that he would sell to me, but Wiki show them to be different. Can someone tell off hand how different and if the one for the F-14 will work? Thanks

They are extremely the same, and if not directly drop in and plug it up and go, can certainly be made to work. All the secondary voltages are the same, even the color coding. Might have to double check the wiring on the plugs pin for pin (I can't quite see in the photo) just to be certain that it all matches up 100%, and I can't quite tell if the plugs are exactly the same, but can be repinned with correct plugs if they are different.

Thank you! I thought they looked the same. I took a quick look at the schematic. The only question I really have is if it has the right amperage. I would think as games got more sophisticated that the transformer would have more...?

That would be a good thing. The circuits draw as many amps as they need, it's not a continuous thing. So if F14 has more capacity (not saying it does... just if) putting it in the earlier, less power hungry machine (not saying that pinbot is...) wouldn't make any difference.... but if you like to double chimp the flippers a lot it would actually work better.

Correct. It’s potential to draw from. Less would be the issue. I’m guessing the f-14s will be fine. I’m going to LED the game. That’s probably the biggest draw on any of them.

Thanks you and wayout440
