    Hi all -

I need a new transformer for my 1946 Chicago Coin Goalee. From pictures of other machines - it appears that the original transformer is marked 5-300 on one side and 60 cycles (see pics)

I feel pretty confident with EM repair, but I’ve never had to deal with sourcing and replacing a transformer.

I would appreciate any specific appropriate replacement suggestions.

The game is a 1946 Chicago coin “GOALEE”

    Thx!
    Pete

Do you know what you need on the secondary? 25V and 6V? chances are you wont find a direct replacement but you can find one that will run the game. Ive got several spare

For comparison '41 Chicago Coin All Star Hockey has a transformer with 30 and 6 volts. Photos and schematic at:

Yup. I have Chicago Coin machines from the early 50s to mid 70s (pins, em arcades, bowlers), and
they're all 30V circuitry. I'm pretty much 100% your machine is 30V (6V for the light bulbs).
Let us know how you make out..

Hi guys - I’m back at this one.

Steve at PBR sent me an appropriate replacement transformer. Having some issues/questions wiring it up

Unfortunately The schematic that I have does not include wiring for the transformer. And I can’t find a diagram online

One side of the transformer is no problem. 115 V and start lugs are labeled on both old and replacement units so that’s easy

The other side is not labeled / no longer readable.

I’m assuming the green wires on the old transformer are the common (good assumption??) but the other two lugs are a mystery.

I appreciate your expertise and suggestions!

(Old one is on the bottom new one is on the top)
