i do like progress pictures of homebrews, but just reading about it, with no infos or details and discussions if there is actually a build are not really interesting to me.

Don't get me wrong, I do think there is a tiny chance you can eventually find enough people via pity or whatever to get them to build your game for you.

I just don't think you can personally do it without those people and their knowledge.

At this point I'd pay Aaron for whatever boards you'd buy just to keep you out of the FAST community that I enjoy so much. You're toxic to the homebrew community with the way you've acted.

I think there is a lot of people looking for some accountability from John. I don't necessarily believe that is being nasty. Yes, there have been some insults thrown. Depression? I am no doctor, but I have dealt with some severely depressed people, both family and friends, and IMHO I do not see depression here. What I see is an absolute definition of gaslighting here, with the it's all of you, not me.

DO I think John is enjoying this right now? Not really, because people are holding his feet to the fire he created. I don't think he was expecting that. Remember, it was John that requested he be able to start this new thread. I think the leeway will be given until John requests this to be closed or things get out of hand.

There are some of us, regardless of how this ends up, want to see it through to whichever end it comes to. Again, anyone who doesn't want to be part of this, think's it too mean, has no value or is insulting has the freedom to drain the thread or just ignore it.

I think he'll take whatever attention he can get and hold on to his little piece of being an industry insider who mingles with all the names you've heard of, otherwise I agree fully.

I just want to see the game, and hopefully be pleasantly surprised by how it shoots. I don't think the latter is going to happen though, so I guess I just want to see what the heck is going on when you play the game. I know theres many tournament players who can create great games, but that doesn't mean they all can. John says his 50 years of playing and his tournament knowledge lets him know what is good. Well I don't have 50 years, but I do have around 30, and I am ranked much higher in IFPA than him and I'll be the first to tell you I couldn't design a game worth a shit.

This is your thread, no one is closing it. Just don't expect it to be all sunshine and flowers unless you finally address the elephant in the room.

I would too, unfortunately it's my opinion that all the flow has been removed and it's a chop chop shooter now.

I feel like I should also add, there is nothing wrong with not knowing how to do every aspect of homebrew. One of the things that makes the community so amazing is how helpful everyone is willing to be to other people. There is no shortage of kind and generous people in homebrew.

The reason I poke at GWJ is because from the very beginning he boasted how his game would be better than homebrew, insulting a group of people who have poured thousands of hours into games that they are very proud of. Yet, nice people like Trey still spent time offering suggestions, help, etc... only to have the whole thing treated like a joke. Just burned me the wrong way.

I still have a small amount of hope that the game will be treated with an ounce of seriousness. GWJ was financially given the chance I've seen a lot of other aspiring homebrew people not be able to take, and it would be neat if that panned out.

I wasn't going to say anything, but I've been asked so I'll make my peace.

I like chatting about pinball design. Homebrewing is a very fun and rewarding hobby.

I felt some pity for John because he has a rough life. I figured throwing himself into a pinball project would be good for him and a better use of his time than drinking and slowly gambling away what little he has. I could relate to going through bouts of depression and self medicating with alcohol and other vices. So I gave some helpful advice, tried to be positive, and tried to help keep the ball rolling.

But John isn't going to change. He obviously isn't going to based on the last several months of chatting with him on a regular basis. He even says he isn't going to change.

I'm not even mad at John. I no longer care about anything to do with this.

Build the game, or don't.
