Wanted to get thoughts on Trade Value:
Original very nice Monster Bash for NIB Godzilla Premium

#2 1 year ago

The MB would have to have leds, color dmd and maybe some other mods to have an equal value imo.

NVRAM, new ribbon cables, Cliffys…

What is the going value of a really nice original Williams MB? No wear on the playfield.

I would do the trade. I had a MBr SE and sold it after a year. Got old for me. GZ for me is more fun.

Depends .... If you're getting a GZ do it. MB gets stale very quickly

Had 3 of them including NIB and none stayed for more than 6 months. The entire game can be seen in one day even with a novice player.

GZ on the other hand, is sooooooo much more fun.

That's an interesting comment. I think people set their games up to be too easy. The point of pinball is not to "see the entire game", like in a video game. I think the goal is to achieve shots and combos that are very difficult and make incredible saves any way you can. You shouldn't be able to make every shot every time you attempt it. If you can, your game is set up too easy. If you're easily hitting all the shots in GZ every time you attempt them, you will "see the entire game" in a few months and you'll get bored with it, too. By focusing on "finishing" the game, it's more like you're playing the software, and not the whole pinball machine.
Try setting it up so it takes 20 tries to get a replay. This is much more challenging and fun IMHO, and you will not get bored with your games so fast.
I remember Kevin's Monster Bash at Lyons Classic Pinball. Often, it was a challenge to get 20 million points on it. Many times, you would only get 7 or 10 million. Once in a while, you could bust loose and have a high-scoring game, but that was definitely never guaranteed. To me, this is a correctly set up and dialed-in Monster Bash!
Also, if you get bored easily and need a real challenge, make sure you are playing some early solid states and EMs. Many of those take far more flipper and nudging skill than modern games.
I just think there is a lot more to pinball than just touring all of the features.
