Title says it all. I have an opportunity to make this trade, what are your thoughts? I have not played MMr or MM, but honestly how bad can it be?
Thx for any opinions
Quoted from Zavadoza:Would you sell GBLE for $7,000 and do you want to buy MMR NIB? That’s really the (two part) question. From a gameplay perspective, that’s completely your preference.
I would sell GB for 7 and don’t care about nib just can’t seem to work a trade or sell GB for the 7 which is crazy to me

You're in a vicious cycle of getting sick of playing Ghostbusters and then, getting sick of trying to sell Ghostbusters.
I'd do that trade. MMr is so much better.
Quoted from GorillaBiscuits:Totally fair trade, especially if you wouldn’t have to pay for shipping for the NIB MMR, which you normally do.
No but I’d have almost a two hour ride which as you know is tough for me but it looks like it may have to happen eventually if I can’t find one local
I have Ghostbusters Premium and a MMR in my collection and love them both. I bought both NIB and paid $7,500 for the GB and $8,500 for the MMR so I would def say that is a fair trade. They are two totally different games but both worth the money. Non pinball peeps who come over the house love both of them and really have no preference over the other. You will love MMR. It is a great game that should keep you busy for a lifetime. I have my GB playfield being replaced at the moment with Stern so I have been playing MMR by itself for the last couple of weeks. I do miss my GB and can't wait to get it back. I understand some machines have to go on the chopping block in order to get others but you will not regret getting a MMR. Classic game, classic theme and just an overall table that anyone can enjoy.

I’m selling my GB Premium soon to make room for JPOTC. If the market stays this way, I’ll just put it in the gym with NBAFastbreak and wait another year for prices to stabilize.
I would make that trade if I were you.
so Let me throw this into the mix, I would also be able to get a nib met premium, that I’ve played and loved.
Trying to figure this out is tougher than I thought
I would get the MMR. I had a GB LE and sold it at a pretty significant loss. I feel your pain. I don't think priced are going to stabilize, if anything the mass produced games will continue to decline in price as others are introduced.

Assuming $0 money out of your pocket on the Metallica you're still getting about $7,000 for Ghostbusters LE which is good value at this point. Personally I'd spend the $1,000 and get MM but I couldn't blame you either way. Metallica is amazing but MM is something special.

I read this and thought, that is EXACTLY what I was going to say, it's like this Pinsider is reading my mind and has the same games as me. Then I looked at the username and realized I'm married to you!
I would say it's a good trade I absolutely love MMr and for me it never gets old, where sometimes GB can be so brutal that I just have to walk away. We don't own MET, but I have played it a few times and feel like it gets a little repetitive pretty fast and got a bit tired of it.
So the kids are no help with this, oldest says Metallica, middle says MMr and the youngest says keep GB. go figure, and the wife doesn’t even want to make a decision
I have a GBLE and a metpremium. I hope to keep both for a long time. I have played mar, but don’t own it. If I were considering your trade options, I would go with Metallica premium. We play the hell out of that game and it never gets old.
Is the upgrade to color worth the extra $$$? I don’t think I want or need a shaker, or anything else other than protectors and super bands on the flippers
You seriously can't lose with either, both are amazing games. Metallica is the one game I've never sold after my first 8 went out.
OK, Math time:
You can get a Met shipped to your door for $6800, and MMR is around $8300 or so shipped. So in the case of the Met trade you'd be essentially letting your GBLE go for $6800, and in MMR's case you'd be letting it go for $7300. I also think MMR's future resale value will be slightly higher.
Anyways, math is stupid, you should get the game you want haha. But MMR is definitely a much more favorable trade for you. Good luck and keep us posted!
ps: my vote is keep GBLE and save up for a Met pro

Isnt MMR $8k? Where'd the extra $300 come from?
And shipping ain't cheap. Met at $6800 includes shipping. MMR at $8000 does not. Add another $400 on top. That makes Met Prem about $1600 cheaper. So, costwise he's better off going with the MMR trade.
Yeah sorry edited it but too late doh. It's 8k plus shipping. But yeah, we're definitely making the same point that MMR is the better deal
I am thinking that if I go MMr now in a year or so I can sell it and find a met premium
There will be no shipping involved MMr is 8k and met is 7k
I know I can find met cheaper but the MMr is definitely the better deal
I could sell GB for $6800( in theory for a quicker sale ) then buy met for 6800 or MMr for 8k
I think the trade is better too for MMr it saves me$200
And I think it is still the better deal, I am going to do the MMr just need to figure out when to go get it
Strong Work! Enjoy!

Dilly! Dilly!
Let us know how you like it once you get some plays in.
Home and I’m packed and set up.
Trying to set up the color chip now but it seems to be taking forever, what is the usual time? I ordered the mantis protectors and cliffy but he said he is out 3 weeks, not sure I can wait that long

I played a little while before the protectors without issue. About 300-500 plays. In my experience the castle drain was the only place that showed any wear at that point. Just one or two light dents (the design makes that inevitable).
