Hi guys! Wanted input. I have a trade going for my mint ACDC premium, for an original MB with color dmd, blades, leds, painted figures, and cliffys. Guy wants $1500 on top. MB is in excellent condition only wear is around flipper buttons. Is this fair trade?

I traded a acdc for a completely restored afm with every bell and whistle out there straight across. When we added all mods on both machines we agreed each machine was worth 8k I personally wouldn’t give a additional $1500. I might go up to $750 on top but thats it.

#3 4 years ago

Did your Acdc have a color dmd mine doesn’t his does and his gas blades mine doesent, he has mini tv mod. Just want to get pricing right thanks. His has flipper button wear

#4 4 years ago

Also AC/DC’s are selling $6000 something range $8000 is crazy mines a vault

For that title, with the original playfield, I'd ask for really sharp close up pics of the artwork in the center to make sure the insert edges aren't visible. Some of the artwork is large (e.g. all their faces and the flaming pinball) and doesn't have keylines so if the insert edges start to show it detracts from the value.

At the end of the day, if it's a fair trade is ultimately going to be up to you, but HTH.

You can't really add up all the mods like a spreadsheet when trying to put a value on a game. Personally, I'd have a hard time giving that much on top. If it were me in that position, I'd have to look at the fact that I could get a NIB MBR Classic and add the color option for around the cost of my ACDC Premium on the used market. Good points from others regarding possible playfield issues being original. Does the trade game have new decals or original? I imagine you'll find wrinkling around those pincab leg protectors also.

#7 4 years ago

I'd say its worth it... I'd try to offer him 1,200. due to flipper wear.

#8 4 years ago

Looks to be original decal or screen. Has upgraded sub too. I’ll check playfield pics

#9 4 years ago

I wouldn't do it....I'd sell your ACDC (approx $6200) and then buy a nice HUO remake...u can get a brand new one for the $7700 you'd have into the proposed deal.

Agreed but I do prefer originals over remakes I just do. Do factor that into equasion. Thanks

#12 4 years ago

How much are the remakes? I'd rather sell my acdc and buy a new remake. Just me though.

#13 4 years ago

He can get a brand new one delivered to his door (with color) for less than he would have into the proposed deal....

#15 4 years ago

Who’s picking up and dropping off? How far is the pin from you? Sometimes when someone is willing to do the driving it’s worth the extra money.

That's what I thought. Unless you're collecting only original games, I'd buy a new remake with better animations, sculpts, colors, and all new electronics for less than this trade proposal.

#17 4 years ago

Don’t know who’s picking up yet. About 3 hrs each way. I don’t like with the remakes and the new sterns with spike system that you can’t work on them. They are node boards can’t change a bulb, surface mounted components. I also like the feel or knowing it’s original. I feel the same with arcades.

#18 4 years ago

I wouldn't do it with the $1,500 fair even deal yes.

#19 4 years ago

Guys come on now. Original MB do not go for 6000. It has color, is in fairly nice shape. It is a fair trade with 1500 on top. If I owned the MB and was asked to go straight across it would be a hard no from me. OP likes original not remakes

#20 4 years ago

AC/DC is a better game in my opinion.

I agree its worth more...Heres my point....his AC/DC is worth probably $6200 + $1500....so he would have $7700 into that game....

Heres a original MB in better condition for $7500

https://pinside.com/pinball/market/classifieds/ad/82544

sure its worth trading, but not for $1500....maybe $1k at the most as it need new decals, which is a total pain in the ass to change

#22 4 years ago

I'm a purist "adds mods and leds" lol
So my worthless point of view is this. The remake values are holding steady so the remake vs original value is kind of a mute point isn't it? Value is value remake or not.
I do agree, if I were the OP Id sell my pin and buy a NIB remake and not look back.

#23 4 years ago

I’d say add 500 tops to your game to get MB. You may like original better, but remember you can get a new MB with color for 6500ish. Cheaper if you do an open show special.

#24 4 years ago

So in my case my acdc was completely modded out and the guy I traded put the value of my pin at 8k. I put his at 8k as well and I had to put a color dmd in the Afm. Now for you describing your barebones acdc premium I would expect you to add additional $1200 on top not the $750 I originally quoted. I too prefer the original over the remakes for the exact same reasons as you. I say get what you want and play the shit out of it!

#25 4 years ago

Thanks guys for thoughts, I agreed to $1500 and acdc, but after friends and forum told him I’d do a grand bec so thought that was the fairest for both of us and I made a mistake on initial offer. He’s pissed and doesent respond. I feel bad and apologized, would still do the deal but $500 less. Should have offered less my mistake.

#26 4 years ago

no way in hell id add money to the deal. all kinds of mb on here for around 6400-6600. ac/dc is the better game by far.

#27 4 years ago

I guess I can understand his frustration, but he's probably pissed, because he knew it was a smoking deal. The reality is both parties need to be happy, and his game just isn't worth it. If theres one thing I've learned in this hobby is patience typically pays off....be patient and you'll find a deal that works for u

#28 4 years ago

Thanks

#29 4 years ago

I understand if you want an original but you should probably just sell AcDc and buy a NIB MB.

#30 4 years ago

Leaning toward remake. Just hope if led goes out or whatever so can fix it.
