Wondered if someone had advice or could recommend steps to trace down a string of lamps that won't illuminate.
My Whirlwind machine has four bulbs that don't light even in lamp test. They're the larger 906 or 912 sized bulbs...

- Left ramp "million plus" arrow
- Upper and lower jet "5k when flashing"
- and the "100k bonus per sweep" lamp.

They all flash during game play when they should but that's it.
...Also during attract mode the
"3000 when lit" bulb under the right side spinner is only on when the lights sweep from top to bottom at the end of attract mode. It joins the other four bulbs above not lighting during the first 90% of attract mode. It does however light during lamp test.
Any help would be appreciated!

Do you have the manual?

If not, there is a copy on IPDB: http://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?id=2765

There are wiring schematics inside that show where things go and what wire colors are used.

If they're 906s wouldn't they be flashers? I haven't worked with this game specifically but I thought usually flashers didn't flash in attract mode or the lamp test, and instead had a separate flasher/coil test.

Flashers are controlled like a coil, and need to be tested in coil test mode. Keep in mind that some inserts could have a cpu controlled light AND a flash lamp. The cpu controlled lights (lamp matrix) are tested in the lamp test mode, but flashers are tested in coil test mode. Also, in most cases, flashers are not used in attract mode lighting.

Thank you guys for the fast and informative answers, maybe nothing is wrong. When you advance through the lamp test these bulbs aren't listed I notice now, only the corresponding backglass lamp.

They work in game play. Nothing is wrong.
