yup. book now, ya know you're going
There's some arcades I want to take, but don't want to sell, but on Sunday at the event, i'll want to sell instead of packing and bringing back, but then if i sell, i'll miss them and regret selling them for months and find myself looking to buy them again...
here's 2015 pix, in case you're on the fence
if you don't go to TPF 2016, the bad guys win!
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/txpinfest-2015-chillin-weekend-time
Quoted from rccola777:I'm doing the same next year (going up on Thursday and staying 3 nights). Already booked the room and expect them to sell out even earlier this year. On a side note, only 190 days 'til the Houston Expo!
Houston party central !!! Already planning my cigar selections.
Look out Zoo Keeper, your high score is Mine !!!
Quoted from Jared:This has got to be some sort of record for how quickly it is filling up already...
yeah. not sure if it's related to TPF, or maybe there's other things in the area that weekend, like something at the baseball field across the lot, or a toothbrush convention?
Quoted from rccola777:If Rich will hurry up and finish the ZK artwork, it should look like a new game this year! I've been waiting since last September to put this thing together...ZK.jpg (Click image to enlarge)
hehehe... i've been waiting on an EDOT floor mat art piece for about 2 years
Quoted from Stones:Lol.....what arcades??? When it's closer to time, let me know if you need help unloading
EDOT, Centipede Cabaret, Playchoice 10 Countertop + 1 or 2 other items that might be showing up soon
(haven't told the 'ol lady about the new arrivals yet.)
Quoted from Frax:You don't know Ed very well, do you?
He'll probably try to license the Cactus Canyon art just to rile everyone up now. Plus it fits the whole Texas stereotype.
Tron Wayne says, "i have no i-dear what yur talkin' 'bout neighburrr "
Quoted from Gizmonic:Is there a discount code for the hotel? Cheapest room listed for me was $239.00/night.
tell them it is for the event "Texas Pinball Festival". that should do it. if not, tell them to type in "TPS".
Quoted from TigerLaw:I'm booked and ready for the event!!! Woot woot!!!
Wow... Houston & Dallas this time around
Quoted from Whysnow:Well... My wishlist is up to date if anyone is looking to sell anything and wants to reach out to me directly. Hint Hint...
Mainly looking for oddball stuff and Bally/Williams B/C listers that are complete partwise but a fair price due to needing some love (I care about playfields but not much about cabs).
Best thing I guess would be if anyone wants to arrange me bringing you a pin now. That means I will have the car and ability to shop and bring something back.
Could you bring me a working Mystery Castle
Thanks Santa
Quoted from Whysnow:sure thing! I actually do know of one locally you could probably get but I am assuming the guy will want a hefty price...
Haven't scared me off yet
Quoted from beelzeboob:This just in:
I may be crapping on Texas in March. Waiting to hear from some people to see if they're going. It'd be great to punk Jared again and meet Labnip, as well as my other Texan brethren and the people I missed by skipping Expo.
This announcement should free up some hotel rooms.
I'll bring 2 bigger coolers and we can stash them under the Mezel table and the spooky table for quick floor access
Stocking up on a variety of cigars for those interested during big smoke. Hoping Barry makes some cool themed wraps again! Hint hint
Sounds like at this coming TPF we could experience:
1. The Aliens pin reveal
2. Announcement of next PPS Remake
3. Rare meet & greet with labnip
Quoted from TigerLaw:Is this a BYOB meet and great or will refreshments be provided?
Cigars & breath mints are complementary during normal hours.
In the wee late hours, he can likely be talked into buying folks anything.
Quoted from beelzeboob:SO excited for this show, and all the people I'm going to meet. This one's all about the people...I don't even care about the machines. How f**ked up is that???

Quoted from Ed_in_Texas:The show is going to be HUGE! Please stop by and say hello. I'll be busy I'm sure, but will alway stop to meet people. The BIG SMOKE Friday night is not to be missed!
and Sat morning, and Sat night, and...

Quoted from Zukboy2002:Im ready to get the drinks flowing
Quoted from Fishbeadtwo:What's shipping from DFW area to Seattle running these days?
for a pin or vid, door to door? ...about $360-$390-ish
Quoted from Frax:Getting moderate pangs of regret, but there is always next year...

i still have to move 1 pin downstairs
Quoted from Mk1Mod0:ATTN: Austin folk- I-35 from Temple through the E/W split was a parking lot. Some was due to construction, some from accidents. Plan accordingly.
oh nuts...
Quoted from Snailman:Hopefully not as bad as last year when an overpass collapsed on I-35 on the transit day to TPF, completely shutting off I-35 in both directions.
yep. that was totally whack
Got a vid loaded up tonight
Hit the grocery store for munchies & picked a few wine bottles from the cellar.

They've got my Galaga cabaret in trailer

Edit: on second look way too big. What type of dog is that?
you're up way too late
Quoted from t3amaw3s0m3:Does anyone have more details as to the seminars taking place at TPF? The site doesn't say much except for who the speaker is at any given time. I'd like to know what they'll be talking about (most interested in anyone talking about restorations & repairs, the olden days, or R&D matters), and if any of you recommend listening to anyone in particular.
There's an app you can install that has the agenda
Search for : eventbase
Install it
Run it
Inside app, search for: texas pinball festival
Select it
Browse it & see daily breakdown
Quoted from centerflank:I sure love seeing the new stern games at shows in pics, but, get me my GOT that I ordered 5 months ago.
Labnip, I expect you to confront Gary on this issue or whatever stern employee is there, make sure to blow cigar smoke in his face to show you mean business.
On it
Quoted from PinballManiac40:Likely I'll check over my Corvette when I arrive mid afternoon and install a ColorDMD in a friend's TZ for the weekend.

IMG_20160318_090921802_(resized).jpg
dude, get on over here before we use up all the fun
Quoted from Law:They haven't picked up the food yet, you can make it!
uhhg.... that means i have to move
Quoted from Law:I'm taking bets on when this thread passes the "official" tfp thread....
This is the official thread...
Frax & his better half bailed on us this year
(But I'm just jealous, cause they're playing it big in Vegas, baby!)
After cranking the vol up & testing out GOTLE yesterday...
I woke up with that theme song playing in my head.
Good thing I totally dig that song.
Of all the shows, that's one where I actually enjoy watching & listening to the intro before it starts, instead of fast forwarding.
We found 2 issues with GOTLE thrown yesterday:
1. Sometimes when the ball drops into it, it bounces right out. Robin & Martijn noticed it when it first happened.
2. When the ball does drop in the thrown & stay, the switch isn't being pushed down all the way & registering. That means the solenoid doesn't Fire & kick the ball out.
After farting around with it last night, I think Law mentioned maybe sanding down the 2 front hole edges of the Thoene hole that the ball sits in, to move the ball forward a little more & push the switch all the way down.
We tried bending the switch to see if that would work, and it wouldn't even bend for us. It just went right back into place.
Someone also mentioned there could be some screws under it that could be adjusted to change the position of the switch, but i can't see them (when drunk), and not sure how to reach them with a tool (besides me).
Ed says "the man" will be here today & maybe he can check out his design of it & help us out. Dude, wouldn't that be cool
I borrowed someone's orange knife last night & couldn't find him to give it back. Will try again this morning
Yeah. Only 1 "official" business has secured the rights to do it.
Can't remember who, but the rest of us can't do streaming
Quoted from centerflank:Ok Labnip, these are great pics and all but what about the bathrooms?
Before or after ?
Quoted from markp99:You tease with the GoT upper playfield textured panels. Are these ready to sell? They look like they could use little color.
still in prototype mode. getting really close.
this is the LE test.
i got a marker and painted eye browse on the front textured panel.
will find a pic of it...
will need to put some ghetto street tags on it for now
well...
GOTLE update:
the man says, download the latest code & install it first.
then there's an interesting menu test we can do (i'm not sure what, cause i "think" it's a physical thing.... but who knows)... to get the ball to register in the thrown.
downloading now (thanks ben)
Quoted from centerflank:Do you think both of them are gonna fit in?
Depends on podcast topic
Quoted from Stones:Man.....the coppers are everywhere
Yep.
They're givin folks a hard time about walking around w booze this year
Quoted from Mocean:Can someone post pics of the multimorphic area?
For the right price
I may have forgotten to mention....
Show opened at 5pm
Probably cause it's happy hour & we're placing bets on who's going to ride the elevator and moon everyone
Quoted from LTG:I hope I get to go again.
Great show ! Great people ! And I really liked where it is held.
LTG : )™
You here?
Quoted from Kerry_Richard:Someone please do tell what's the significance with the short legs on the CFTBL? Apparently on a rotor table going in circles...
inquiring minds want to know.
We're pimps in Tejas.
Lo reye derz
Quoted from Pinterest:So how much you pay Gabe to get him to hang out with you?
A plethera
Quoted from TigerLaw:You need 15 thumbs up before you can tea bag it.
Minimum tea quota established lock when lit
Quoted from t3amaw3s0m3:Got it, though I was hoping to see where they made the speakers write a blurb about what exactly they intend to talk about. Guess I'm too used to going to software conferences...
The speakers like to either:
Surprise folks or,
Just talk about gen stuff like what's going on or the past
Quoted from TigerLaw:Tomorrow at noon. Bring the bags.
No worries, Always keep em at arms reach
Quoted from TaTa:Great job labnip! Wish I could buy you that coffee.
You sold me... I'm totally going to TPF 2017!!!
Ya gotsta come. Great people here
Picked up a new topper
What do you think ?
Great colors, and I like the northern ice dude on it, since LE art is about fire, & the premium has all the cool northern/ice art on it.
image_(resized).jpgimage_(resized).jpgimage_(resized).jpgimage_(resized).jpgimage_(resized).jpgimage_(resized).jpgimage_(resized).jpgimage_(resized).jpg
There's a Russell Crowe look alike here.
Great excuse to convince your wives to come.
Heck, it might actually be him
These totally rock!!
Crowd & lines to play.
Awesome sound. Can actually hear them compared to other pins around.
image_(resized).jpgimage_(resized).jpgimage_(resized).jpgimage_(resized).jpgimage_(resized).jpgimage_(resized).jpgimage_(resized).jpgimage_(resized).jpgimage_(resized).jpgimage_(resized).jpgimage_(resized).jpgimage_(resized).jpgimage_(resized).jpgimage_(resized).jpgimage_(resized).jpgimage_(resized).jpg

This little piggy went to TPF...
And what did this other little piggy do??
Quoted from OLDPINGUY:My sincerest thanks for taking the time to post all the pics, labnip!
It allows all of us who are not there to feel welcome to the experience of the Texas show,
with the hopes of attending next year!
Too Much Fun!
My pleasure amigo
Quoted from Zampinator:Great pictures! Thank you!
Did anyone get video of the Alien presentation last night?
Nope... But I'll bet it's posted somewhere now
Quoted from beelzeboob:Sitting on the plane at DFW. I'll go into more detail later, but want to thank everybody...all of my pinside brethren, but especially labnip...for the warm welcome. See you next year!
Had to fuel up for the break down process.
Love me a fresh grilled ruben. Darned yummy
Here were some of the menu options.
Think 2 of the trucks left a little bit earlier, but 3 still here to the end
