My buddy and I just booked our rooms down the street for Fri/Sat Nights, just a staggering walk away! Party Time!
Pretty impressive that the TPF hotel reservations were full up 2 months ago!
Ken
Same drill as last year. And the year before. Oh, and the year before that. Since it's a loooooong drive with trailer from Corpus to Dallas, we'll go straight through to WinStar on Wednesday to spend the evening eating, drinking and gambling. Free Thursday senior breakfast buffet and then a short drive down to Frisco for the main event. Pinball/drinking/drinking/pinball... lather, rinse and repeat. While I doubt anything will come close to (my experience at) last year's show, it will still be awesomely epic. Looking forward to it!
7 months to go...
Houston in 2.5!
TPF has spoiled me as far as pinball shows go. We will be back again next year!
Booked at embassy suites. TPF rate only worked for a doubles room arriving Thursday, but was half the price of a thing else on-site.
Got my hotel room today! Finally get to stay at the hotel so excited (thanks to my girlfriend for reminding me to book early). Gonna bring a couple of games too.
TPF here we come!
Matt from Back Alley Creations and myself booked our hotel several months ago and just booked our flight tonight.
I hope Ed saves us a nice booth.
Quoted from TigerLaw:I'm booked and ready for the event!!! Woot woot!!!
Wow... Houston & Dallas this time around

Nothing will stop me this time. I think I owe you some tequila that I promised last year. I shockingly still have that same bottle...
Wife and I bought tickets for TPF. We are excited to finally check this one out and hope TX welcomes a few WI folks .
We are not sure on if we are flying or driving at this point (flights for some reason are super expensive that week... maybe spring break?). If anyone wants to pre-arrange pintransport from Madison-Dallas with any stop enroute then please hit me up soon. It would surely sway us to drive if we had a game that needed to be brought in or back.
If directly on route with easy pickup then a flat $200 seems like a good price?
Along this thought... Is there anyway to find out what is for sale at TX in advance? If I am driving down then I might as well bring something back
I could fit 3 pins total for transporting if needed (would have to take minivan instead of jeep but that is doable.)

Welcome! You won't regret your decision.
Typically there is a "what is going to be for sale at TPF" kinda thread, but I've found 50% of the machines for sale do not pop up until the day of...
TPF is a buyers dream, all the games are priced pretty fairly, you can negotiate, and you can also play any pin extensively before you decide to purchase it. I buy a new machine each year. Typically sell one too. Very fun aspect of the show.
Well... My wishlist is up to date if anyone is looking to sell anything and wants to reach out to me directly. Hint Hint...
Mainly looking for oddball stuff and Bally/Williams B/C listers that are complete partwise but a fair price due to needing some love (I care about playfields but not much about cabs).
Best thing I guess would be if anyone wants to arrange me bringing you a pin now. That means I will have the car and ability to shop and bring something back.
This year I am after:
Flintstones
Shadow
Fish Tales
Who Dunnit
Indy 500
Black Knight 2000
Hurricane
Apollo 13

Could you bring me a working Mystery Castle
Thanks Santa

I will inquire. Pm me your thoughts on range so i can let him know.
This just in:
I may be crapping on Texas in March. Waiting to hear from some people to see if they're going. It'd be great to punk Jared again and meet Labnip, as well as my other Texan brethren and the people I missed by skipping Expo.
This announcement should free up some hotel rooms.

I'll bring 2 bigger coolers and we can stash them under the Mezel table and the spooky table for quick floor access
Stocking up on a variety of cigars for those interested during big smoke. Hoping Barry makes some cool themed wraps again! Hint hint

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. You wont get me again. You can try though, I wont be caught with my pants down on my home turf.

I may have to come out again to see all the drunk people lol

Please do! Lots of things to discuss!!!
99% sure I'll be at Texas next year. Flying in late Thursday afternoon, flying out Sunday morning. Anything ever going on there on Thursday night? I considered coming back Saturday because most shows are a clusterf**k on the weekends, and lots of machines are already gone/sold.
My wife said, "Is there anything for us to see while we're there?"
"Yeah," I told her. "Armadillos."
Quoted from beelzeboob:My wife said, "Is there anything for us to see while we're there?"
If she is anything like my wife, she will think she is in heaven with the huge shopping mall across the street.

She'll think she's in heaven with the huge shopping mall and MY credit card. She'll call that her "fee" for accompanying me.
DISCLAIMER: If Joe from PinballStar goes, she'll probably want to hang out with him. She likes him much better than me.

The show is just as strong and active Saturday night as it is Friday. It really doesn't start winding down until Sunday. I like getting there Thursday so I can set up and chill/relax.
Quoted from beelzeboob:and lots of machines are already gone/sold.
TPF requires that machines stay on the floor on free play until closing time Sunday even if sold. There are exceptions of course but I haven't noticed an appreciable drop in the number of games available on Sunday until immediately before wrap up time the last two years.
Also, watch out for the armadillos. That's how you get leprosy.
FYI... started another "maybe for sale" thread for the 2016 show here:
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/2016-texas-pinball-festival-maybe-for-sale-thread
Good for coordinating sales & trades separately from the main show topics discussed here. Cheers & only four months to go!

TPF doesn't suffer from that issue. The show will be hitting on all cilinders still on Saturday. Stay till Sunday for sure.

I am. Getting in late Thursday afternoon, leaving Sunday morning. Now if the G-D airfares would come back down again...I waited too long and got screwed. The second they drop below $400, I'm booking.

Fly on spirit air. My ticket price to Houston from New Orleans round trip this weekend was $82...and I booked just four days before the flight...
No convenient place to fly out of on Spirit. My friend is a pilot for them, and even I won't fly that airline. My life is too valuable.
I'm Beelzebooked:
Flight....check.
Hotel...check.
Car...check.
Looking forward to meeting everybody!
Sounds like at this coming TPF we could experience:
1. The Aliens pin reveal
2. Announcement of next PPS Remake
3. Rare meet & greet with labnip
Quoted from labnip:3. Rare meet & greet with labnip
Is this a BYOB meet and great or will refreshments be provided?

Cigars & breath mints are complementary during normal hours.
In the wee late hours, he can likely be talked into buying folks anything.

Call me old fashioned but personally I would only be interested in #3.
