I was digging these for the "video games" part of my workbench area!

    Quoted from halflip87:

Agreed. Crop dusting is one thing, but the unwashed balls, wet dog and sweaty dirty clothing smells are far worse than crop dusting, hands down.

My 8 year old stepdaughter came to me and said:

Her: "Jeremiah....you remember what you told us about people picking their nose or digging in between their buttcheeks and scratching while playing a game?"

Me: "yes, I do. That's why we have sanitizer bottles for each of us. Why? What'd you see?"

Her: "There was this guy playing, and he reached down the front of his pants, itched around, and then kept playing..."

Me: "...I didn't want to be THAT right...get your sanitizer out..."

    This was Friday.

    Nasty ass fucks.

    Quoted from PanzerKraken:

This reminds me of going to some gaming conventions (boardgames, rpg, tabletops) with the wife and her experiences with some of the nasty folks attending, so much BO and funk going around. It turned us off the smaller crowded events, we try to be more picky with the shows we go to. TPF kind of sounds like something we would want to go to, and just end up annoyed at it sadly. Feels like it needs to grow and expand to a larger venue with bigger floor space for all.

Yeah, no way I was waiting 40 minutes to play Pulp Fiction. It looks good, but this is TPF, not Walt Disney World.

Honestly, I walked around, socialized, talked with homebrew builders, and played maybe 10 machines the whole time I was there.

Let me say this: I am beyond grateful for the organizers of TPF and what they do. This is the biggest national show in the country, and I acknowledge and respect that. The criticism: it is INSANELY crowded compared to 2018, 2019.

I almost wish Friday up to 5pm could be a "gatekeeped" time for Pinsiders and people who bring a game. Once the 5pm doors open, it's total pandemonium and so loud you can't hear jackshit.

Again, I am not trying to be a snob, but dang, it is becoming "too big" now. We will return simply because my fiancee is stationed 2 hours away at Sheppard so it is a easy drive, but I'll return to socialize and network/buy pinball and nonpinball products. And then I'll play the new games on location or with fellow owners in the Cincy-Dayton-Columbus area.

The National Ideo Game Museum was ABSOLUTELY worth the 10 minute drive. We were in there a solid 2.5 hours taking everything in.

I won't show pictures as this is one of those "go in truly enjoy wave after wave of nostalgia" places. Paid $42 for family of 4 and well, well worth it.

I won't deny: TPF is becoming the "side item" to making the trip to Frisco. We rode the ferris wheel, did the video game museum, enjoyed Perry' Steakhouse, walked through some outlet malls near the Ford Center, etc. Then, I go to TPF for 2-3 hours on Friday, 1-2 hours on Saturday and leave Saturday night. There is way, way too much to do in Frisco to stand in line for 40 minutes for Pulp Fiction. There are a number of local places to play pinball with FAR LESS wait times.

I will give our community credit: it didnt smell like shit, ass, and sweat on Friday, so that's progress!!

    Quoted from GolfKill:

....If you say your pet is a "service animal" no one is allowed to question you on it.

Oh really? My BEL just became my service animal (just kidding)!!!

    Quoted from transprtr4u:

    Respect your elders

If they've earned it.....being older doesn't automatically gain you respect from me if you're an asshole.

If you're old and mean, you can take that boomer shit back to the 1940s

    #416 1 year ago
    Quoted from EMsInKC:

The 40s? How old do you think boomers are?

Well since my parents were born in 46, 77 respectfully.
