I think this is true, there is a much bigger market outside the few elite Pinside users that want a fully packed CE with mods.
I'm not in for one, but that I decided before it was announced already.

Was to be expected

I watched the youtube video from JJP and Pat says the game is more or less designed for ‘non pinballers’ so kids etc. or people who have no connection yet to pinball and never had one.

So for the hardcore pinballer this game is less interesting, but JJP will reach a large audience with this game for sure.
So I think we should look at this game from
this perspective.
It will hopefully bring more new people to the hobby.

I think the sentiment in this thread is not representative for the buyers group. The CE is sold out everywhere in europe, although also I did not buy one and am not looking for one, out of interest I asked around a bit.

You see a few posts up the screenshot from Freddy pinball paradise ‘not available’ you can click on price on request but you will probably get a price with additional aftermarket markup (thats why no price is mentioned on the site)
I saw some adds for the CE’s selling at 22K euro here in NL.
So the demand is crazy for even hogher prices here!

So of summer is a bad time to release a pinball, it would’ve been more crazy in the winter. I think the 3 mins for selling 1000 CE’s wont be beat any time soon.

You’re wrong it says ‘not available’ (nicht verfügbar) the buy option for the CE. it’s sold out. You csn only buy if you pay more than MRSP.
