Long story short, and I’d be happy to explain more for those of you who are not familiar with the behind-the-scene workings of the animated film industry…but…
If John Lasseter was still with the Walt Disney co, and not ousted via false accusations empowered by a political agenda, this pin would have been one of the greatest of all time. The man was the greatest creative visionary for the Disney company since Walt himself. He was the toy maker. He was the magic man.
The CE-only Annie Potts vocal callouts is the biggest indicator of what kinds of direction Disney mandated upon JJP with this title. Believe it or not, This film had a firm social-justice agenda that centered around the character Bopeep. It was the primary talking point in the film’s press releases and media circuits. Making a pinball machine that highlighted the success of the films under Lasseter was not in the books. It would have ruffled the new guard’s feathers.
Anyways….who’s up for making a reskin of Cactus Canyon as Woody’s Roundup?
