This game was a gotta purchase unseen for my wife and son. I also have this artistic dementia problem in my life. As such I am replacing the left plastic ramp with wireforms and I am also replacing the other two coated wireforms as it strikes me as too much blue! I want the stainless steel look to break that up and that also frees me to try some more artistic crap (I know I have issues..) but, I enjoy making ramps and wireforms. So it starts today and I will post as it goes. I am so happy that the left ramp is segmented! Now I can just tie into the plastic ramp! And that is a huge time killer to make the ramp. Anyway, please enjoy my madness.. And as always if I get enough people interested in this mod I will make them available to buy.
I wanted to put Slink on left return but it would block too many things below it. I am going to try Slink on right return as he can be above the shooter lane.

I had two failed designs yesterday so I had to walk away from it. The left plastic ramp connector has to be walled in. I tried the plate and wireform combo design and it just caused issues with optos. I cut another base plate adapter and I stopped. I jumped over to xmen that I am only doing for myself as its nuts, but I feel better now that I made something positive. I will get back to toy story soon I want to finish the xmen jet.

I have to extend a bracket for deflector, but stainless steel transition ramp 90% there. Optos and mounts are all good. The next one I make needs to be a hair longer. I made a template at work with a standard ruler. I am a metric guy (Canadian) and I have trouble with fractions and it just bit me in the axx. Xmen completed and very happy with it and now I should have something to show by Sunday. There will be revisions and updates, but I have to make them to get them right.

Opinions??
I could probally make the stainless adapter seen in pictures out of plastic… I can try that to, just not sure?

I will sell a complete set replacing all wireforms and plastic ramp or just the plastic ramp side. I think I might be able to get Slink done going to left return replacing that ramp. I think when you see all of them made from stainless steel you will see the visual difference. It might look weird with 2 blue wireforms and one stainless ramp and slink. But???

I'd be in for a set. That plastic ramp is blah

List started. Thanks for the interest. Just a heads up I do $50 an hour plus materials and I make 2 or 3 sets to get a average time to figure out final costs. And I will playtest the hell out of first (figure things out) set.

Extended the transition ramp, starting on left return.. i will update this post as the night goes.

Trying wireformed Slink.
Almost done with the head. I like it!

Are you leaving it like that or covering the body and adding eyes and stuff?

#18 8 months ago

This is exactly the people companies like JJP and Stern need in their corner. People with talent and creativity. Well done!

Amazing. Please add me to your list.

Done for tonight. Adding eyes and a hind section. It will look alot better when I stone, sand and polish it.

The long right wireform I am going to shape it like Bo peeps sheppards cane. I think it will work visually, but I have to build it to see it..

Thats one of the nicest complements I have ever got on pinside. Thank you. I had a booth rented at Pintastic, but my wife went in to the hospital and I had to be here. I was hoping to show Jack my Guns and Roses mod at the show.

Thanks. I am not restrained by costs (at least on my own machine) and I am not sure if this can be made by machines.. I have 4 hours on this and not done.

Thank you, I really enjoy making crazy wireforms for my machines. Some are a hit and others fall flat. I did not sell a single Gnr kit due to price, but that set takes 16 hours to make. I have found out once you breach $350 and up you loose alot of people.

I fugured out eyes thanks to my sons art class!

Front legs done.

Eyes are great! If you can figure out a way to cover the entire head and maybe put a tongue sticking out to the side where it doesn’t affect ball trajectory, I think you would sell lots and lots of these. Your ramp looks incredible as is but covering the head and the ears would be epic!

Maybe, but this is the figure how to build it set. 4 legs and now a spring tail. Its very hard to tig weld thin plates without having very noticeable welds. I think it might hurt the visual.

Yeah it would have to be like a 3D printed snap-on thing that would allow you to clap on to the wire form. But it looks great as is too!

Started right long form. I am very use to Sterns hardware, however Jjp is a funky bunch of micro screws!

Right long form just needs drop guide done. I wont get back to it until tomorrow. Hopefully you can see the difference… Thanks for checking out my artistic dementia.

Trying to figure out sheppards cane as small right return..

Adding the remaining wireform and trying to figure out a different design over another ball drop rail over another one and I think I got it!
The end of the wireform has a bend upwards and the ball goes up and drops into lower form. Very happy and I have never seen anything like this and that drives me more. Fast balls drop without issue and even if I place the ball on the wireform midway it still drops!
Once I saw that working just looking at it and I saw Forky! I will get back to it tonight, but I am very happy today! The ring will be his arms and repositioned. Then I will work out his feet.

Wow! That’s perfect! I was thinking you could powder coat/paint slinky dog and forky the same colors they had in the movies. That would give them a very nice finishing touch. I know it’s a lot more work but worth a try for your machine.

I was thinking bronto wire form on Flintstones.
The tongue on bronto would work great on the slinky mouth.

The one on Big Hurt was awesome.

For costs I am building these as seen. Playtesting now and I am taking notes for minor adjustments ir revisions to follow. The stainless just breaks up all that blue! Play video shows all ramps including divertor working.

I was asked for measurements. I made Slink out of wireforms as I can scale it to any size I need. If there is a slink toy close to this size please feel free to let me know. I am up to working a toy head and tail if there is one the right size.
I have a few minor adjustments written down for the next toy story set. I am playing these everyday to test.
My schedule as of today is To make a few Star Wars pro kits, then Mandalorian, followed by Toy Story and just added a simplified xmen set. I will be making them in that order.

Again, a 3D printed kit to fit each section perfectly might be the best way to go here. Then you can simply make a cast and create more replicas out of whatever material like silicone or whatnot. Add a little paint and you are done.

I do not have that skillset with making things. It would look terrible. I have other slinks coming in from amazon. If I can get the right scale I will use it. Otherwise its wireform Slink in stainless. And if anyone wanted them powder coated they could send out the set for that do be done seperately.

Trying this one when I get it. I might have to scale the rings up or down, I wont know until I get them. And I am playtesting first set out everyday and so far only minor adjustment to ball drop is needed. The drop as it is now triggers lane switch 75% of the time. It needs to be a 100%. I need to move drop up a hair which is easy.

I'd want this stuff if I had a TS4. I'd want it all just in stainless. It's a work of art as is. Those eyes are creepy and unnecessary.

I am not sure if I can figure this slink toy out to use as a ball guide. I will try later on, but as a add on somewhere else I think it would look great.

Its awkward so far as his legs are just straight and not bendable. I am still trying.

Anyone that expressed interest in this Slink are you more interested in the plastic toy being part of wireform? Or would prefer wireform Slink? Please let me know.

Following this thread. You do some amazing work. I just wanted to pop in and say if you figure out how to integrate the toy version on some way, I’m pretty sure you will have the mist buy mod for this game. Again, amazing work. Cheers.

I agree in the look over wireform. I am working on it. I think the only way this works is the ball dropping out of Slinks chest.. I can try and relocate the feet or the angles, but? The wire and ball height on it will determine eveything. I just want to think this out before I destroy this Slink.

I forgot to ask the interested people are you looking just for Slink or all 3? Prepping myself for it. Thanks.

Hopefully you understand this picture. But, I have been sent a message….
First attempt to follow, but I needed a head! I will be adding a wireformed frame under the mouth and the head will be supported on both sides as well. I might have to counter balance it, but my plan is to have Slink looking downward and when a ball passes his head will raise up and look at you. It will take a bit of trial and error, but I think I can get there. This plastic Slinks colors are perfect for the machines playfield. Stay tuned, I will post the failures too.
