I'm working on a project to add a pinball arcade to our area in the next few months. While we are still looking for machines to purchase for this, something I saw from the upcoming Museum of Pinball auction caught my eye.
First, man, I wish I could have visited this place before all heck broke loose. That would have justified a trip to Cali. Anyway, I noticed they had a tournament play area setup and they had TV/Monitors mounted above the machines so they could display a live view of the playfields.
Does anyone here have an knowledge or insight on how they were doing this? I'm figuring that they had some type of camera mounted up near the ceiling/rafters and maybe was using a PC with some software to focus on just the playfield. I'm not looking for a detailed how-to, but maybe some idea what hardware they were using to accomplish this.
Otherwise, I may just try a few things some camera's that I have sitting around (a decent webcam, some GoPro's, etc) and then see if I can find some open source software to just crop the captured image.
I think this would be a nice thing to add in our plans for our pinball arcade project. Not only just for tournaments, but also to showcase new games or just to highlight some "Pins of the Month".
