4 - 6 side pot players - 70% to first place, 30% to second place
7 - 10 side pot players - 50/30/20
10+ side pot players - 45/30/15/10
There will be a main tournament and a side tournament.
The main tournament will be a Pinburgh-style tournament similar to the
tournaments that Scot Charles, Gregg Giblin, and Rick Prince conducted
last year.
The main tournament will begin at 1:30 p.m.
There will be a few differences; however, as the intent is to have
everyone play every other player during the seeding portion of the
tournament.
This may not happen if the turnout is >~28 players.
About eight rounds of four player games will take place during the
seeding portion of the tournament.
The double elimination portion (broken into A and B divisions) of the
tournament will take place after the seeding portion.
The top half of the field from the seeding portion will play in the A
division and the remaining players will play in B division.
WPPR points will be awarded.
Extra balls will be disabled. Death saves and Bang Backs will not be
allowed.
Tilts will be tight. Physical abuse of the pinball machines such as
kicking, lifting and then dropping, or punching the glass, will not be
tolerated and may be cause for elimination from the tournament.
There will be a classics tournament held on Harlem Globetrotters. This
will begin at noon. Each entry will cost three dollars and will
consist of one game. Players may only purchase one entry at a time,
but are allowed to enter the Classics tournament multiple times.
The four players with the highest scores recorded by 8:30 p.m. will
play one final game to determine the winner. During the qualifying
from noon to 8:30 p.m., only the player's highest score will be
recorded.
I will not be playing in either tournament.
Beverages are available at the bar. There are many food options within
walking distance, and outside food is allowed inside the bar.
There is a TOPS tournament running on WPT that ends on the day of the
tournament. I believe that it ends at 9 p.m.
Check back soon for more details.
If you have any questions about the tournaments, post them here or
send me an email.
I hope to see you there!
