Picked this up yesterday. Played it last night. Swapped GIs with leds this morning and played a couple games. Went to turn it on an hour later and only get random dots on the dmd and only lights in back box turn on. Fuses look good. The cap in the upper left corner of the four is loose. My guess is this is a powerboard issue? I don't have a spare wpc95 to swap. Where should I start?

Where’s the 5V pull the fuses and check with a meter.

Pulled board off. Lot of hack. Resoldered cap. No change. Led 101 out and no led on led501 on board audio visual board.

Fuses checked with meter, all good.

So, you’re not producing 5V, which boots the CPU and logic of the system. So, you can get a schematic and trace the AC coming in and check for continuity and voltage at each point up to the LED and test point.

Depending on your skill and comfort, you should consider sending it to Chris Hibler for repair. He’s excellent.

I've used Chris before. Great guy. I may end up doing that after a couple more tries.

Verified no 5v at j101-3 & 4 pins. There is 12v at j101-1 & 2.

Is one of the caps for 5v specifically?

I called the original owner and he told me he had the same issue but wiggled some wires in the cab and it fixed it. Also admitted the power board was hacked. So I put the board back in and now it works. I have been trying to move the wire harness in cab around to replicate, machine stays on. Maybe the board is just on its last leg? Notice how the gi on the left side flickers. This happens randomly for about 15 seconds.

Start with repining J101.

I think the pins are okay. The problem was no power getting to the pins. If it acts up again I'll wiggle those pins but sounds like the problem was in the cab harness. However, it just think that board is shot. It's so hacked.
