In the diagnostic menus, I recently got a notice for the UR flipper, or upper right. Does anyone know about a flipper that was supposed to be on the machine but got deleted during the latter stages of design? Just curious.

Quoted from dvandentop:lol I was about to reply and say er....... there isn't a right upper flipper lol
Ha, me too. That's interesting. I never heard of it having an upper flipper in early development, but then, they don't tell me everything, err, anything.
Likely you aren't reading the whole report on the DMD.
Your upper right flipper opto switch on your flipper button opto board isn't working. May need cleaning or fixing.
Easy to test in switch edge test. Go into test, and push flipper button in slowly, see if both optos report and then release and see if both close. Or pass something between them. This will let you know which opto or if opto interupter isn't doing it's job.
While your game does not have an upper right flipper, it's opto on the flipper button opto board is used for game play and entering initials.

I recently had the exact same issue with my WCS94. Cleaned the optos with a Q-tip and some Windex, and the error message disappeared.
The flipper optos all have two switches. One for upper and one for lower. You can often clean the optos with Q-tip but about half the time you'll have to replace the opto board to get rid of the error. In that game, the error can be ignored. The switch is not used for *anything*. Of you choose to replace it, you can get the board for $20 or so from Marco, pinballlife, or mad amusements or such.
