I am doing a TOTAN restoration unfortunately it has been tore down for 3 years waiting on a playfield. I lost all the photos that I took during teardown but it is almost back together I have no idea were to even start on the hex posts for the ramps and skill shot anyone have some photos or can measure theirs for me ?

#2 8 years ago

I saved these a while back just in case I ever tore down my TOTAN I would have them to use as reference. Good luck!

I had the same issue reassembling mine since I didn't realize how close in size (yet different) many of those posts were. Fortunately a friend of mine had one to compare or I'm not sure I'd have ever figured it out! Hope these help.

Yes I figured that out later they are mostly within 1/16-1/8 inch different so the old tape measure rounded up method doesn't work real well with this game. I am getting closer though to getting them figured out

My apologies I would have started one but this ones been tore down for so long I just want to get it finished up the cabinet has been done for 3 years sitting empty. I will start a restoration thread with TOM, and JD at the same time trying to get them both done in two weeks after this one gets put back together, its been interesting with no photos

Please share photos when you can of this. Any oddities found or things you found off?

When Strohz and I were trying to figure out his, I sent this to him. They are measurements I got using calipers, but some of them are not the most accurate since I didn't actually tear anything down to take them. Unfortunately, I can't find the picture we used to define what letter corresponds to what post. I'll look again.

A - 1.6"
B - 1.06
C - 0.7
D - 2.28
E - 2.62
F - 2.5
G (bot) - 1.54
G (top) - 0.9
H (bot) - 1.65
H (top) - 1.69
I - 2.2
J - 3
K 2.29

I will post some photos tomorrow have not found too much wrong other than 2 holes not drilled 1 was marked the other was for a playfield wire that wasn't drilled other than that pretty good.

Thanks for the teardown pictures if you find the picture with corresponding letters that would be a great help I think I might have it right but would like to know for sure.

Here is the original pic I sent Herg, but the sizes annotated are for what I thought might go where (so ignore them). The letters correspond to Herg's list above though. Good luck, even having them side-by-side was tough some were so close.

OMG! There ARE letters in that pic!

I looked at it at least four times, but never saw them.

#18 8 years ago

Awesome thanks this will help me make sure they are correct

Yeah, I should have picked a better color but on the original uncompressed image it was fine, lol. I had actually planned on documenting our work for the future in case someone else ran into this but unfortunately the paper got lost in the move. Between our posts he should be able to figure it out now...thanks again for the help that night!
