Thanks Mike - you are a true mod-wizzard!

Sword Topper - check!
Brass makeover - check!
Chest - hmmm, looks nice but does not look "integrated" in the game and I'm missing the link to the gameplay (flasher activated (or ideally chest opens!) at certain events)
I'm a handyman but don't have the time for DIY- any recommendations about where to buy?

Other mod suggestions or comments?

Cheers,
Ken

The game is pretty over the top and doesn't need much in the way of mods. I have the Pinball Decals target stickers and custom apron cards, color changing leds in the Bazaar inserts, and a light mod for the bazaar scoop. Also add the pin bits mod for the side of the skill shot.

Wow Mike !!! Many Thanks from Italy !
Thank you very much for the guides of your mods , they are very simple and easy to understand.
They are very beautiful and inexpensive .
Great job, congratulations!

There is also a blinged out lamp, I just ordered one and will try to post a pic when installed.

Price is steep, but looks awesome. Installed mine a few weeks ago…here's a quick pic.

Cliffy protectors, the orb protector is a must, I also want to get the magnet and scoop protectors.

Leg protectors, I tried gold color and it looks ok, here is a link to yellow, which might look better.

"I love lamp." Looks great!

Thx.

btw…mine has the new decals, so I went with the metal Stern style leg protectors (available @ Pinballlife).

No I believe a guy from Germany he has lots of pin mods on ebay!

Here are my two favorite custom instruction/free play cards from pinballrebel.com. They really look great against the gold apron.

Not a mod, but a fun backglass to mess with
No idea why that pillar is so purple or pink. Not in the slightest in person

Stu w/ Pincardz makes some cool cards, not sure if he is still selling these though.

TOTAN needs a Color DMD

#24 10 years ago

If you want to jazz up your lamp but you don't want to spend a lot of money, simply buy some plastic jewels from a craft store and glue them on. It actually looks quite nice.

#25 10 years ago

Thanks guys!

Based on your list, I'm building "The TOTAN must have Mod list", with links, sorted by priority, price/DIY, etc.

Af few closing questions to complete the list:
- The skills shot cobra. The plastic with the snake is quite lame in my option and TOTAN is asking for a mod here!.
I can only find: ebay.com link: MONSTER BASH TOTAN INDIANA JONES Pinball Mod Lighted Cobra
This is more general mod intended for several machines.
Any better cobra mod out there?
- I can't find a commercial sword, only Mike's super DIY, but I guess there is - help anyone?
- Am I the only one that is missing an auto plunger
- Any other mods out there + self made stuff pls speak up!

Cheers,
Ken

Magic carpet somewhere? Under machine or in it somewhere?

Perhaps in Wizard mode, but wouldn't an auto plunger eliminate the skill shot?

I bought my sword from the actual Spirit store that opens up in temporary locations for 3-4 weeks leading up to Halloween otherwise you can order the sword online here for $4.99.

It looks better then the one I used and closer to the $299.99 used on PDI's

I wish someone would make a batch of the swords and sell them for an affordable price.
$300+ for this is ridiculous!
Not sure what the cost could be, but parts seem to run around $15-$25? I have no clue.
How much labor is involved? Drilling holes, securing lights, wiring...
If these had a price point of $75, I bet 50 people would sign up for them immediately.

I have two kits sitting in the garage that I put together. Gotta get motivated. That is a good price point.

sword topper.for the one i have in pic above. you looking at 35.00 to 40.00 to order the parts with shipping. and then about 2hrs to put it together and wire it. not counting some kinda of stand.

Exactly. Now with my 3d printer I can make a stand. Too bad you guys aren't closer, it would be much easier with an assembly line. I have a TOTAN and have not found the time to do it.

Cost of materials sounds about right and I think my write up is pretty easy to follow to make your own. Probably take you 30 minutes of your time to make, easy peasy.

There's a good DIY idea.

Also, I bet a reasonably-close match to that nice shiny gold paint could be found at Home Depot/Lowes. (Then go over it later with some black wash & wipe the excess to provide contrasts in the depressions.)

Excellent thread, love the mods. Shame some links are broken.
Interested in making a sword with lights but can't see a link to a kit if available. Where do I source the bulbs and lenses used for the sword please?
That gold lamp looks a must have! It's so expensive, but makes the game pop in the photos.
