I'm for the sideart on this game. I have not seen it with mirror blades, but I have the art on mine and find that it really pulls you into the game. I fell like I'm on the Playfield with the ball when I really get into a game. Totally different experience than without.

Besides, any game can take the mirror blades. Not all have art, so I say do the art when you can.

Quoted from Pafasa:

Is the side art protected? Some sort of clear laminate or something? I think it looks great, but it will look much worse when scratched up by the playfield being lifted up than a mirror does.

I have the side art on two games and have not had a problem with any sides bubbling or coming off. I bought both sets from Treasure Cove, and both came with felt to line the side of the Playfield. No visible scratches yet, and I've had mine for a while. It's a high gloss vynal type of material. Good quality stuff. I added more felt than what came with the sets, so mine are pretty protected all around and in good shape despite Playfield rubbing.
