The scoring always felt really unbalanced to me. Some of the modes are really low scoring, compared to the lightening lamp for example. The best strategy then is just to concentrate on lamp spins, and picking up jewels via harem. Lots of lamp spins also racks up the bonus score.
I would not have lamp spins carry through between end of ball bonus.
