I had that same issue. Seems like if the knocker isn’t working or shorted it will pop the fuse
Just wanted to share some photos of a recent TOTAN job I did a few months ago (New Playfield, Brass Hardware, and inner Decals ) all blinged out with Brass. Other examples on www.pookiespinballs.com.
Great working with this wonderful pinsider "BladeRunner" on his great games. The 2nd TOTAN will be posted within a week in which I completed a full restoration from a barn find (New Playfield, Decals, Cabinet hardware, etc.)
thanks
Perry

Need help: Looking to purchase a totan from a friend soon. He bought it and it’s been sitting. It was a reimport and the person who owned it last ripped out all the back glass tub wiring. All the gi is gone. The only gi harness that is there is the flashing Bulbs. See picture for what I’m looking for. Does anyone have a picture of the back of one with closeups of wiring or a very high def image? It gets worse they put a tube light bulb in it after ripping out the GI.. this is the only picture I have found and it’s extremely blurry. A high res one would be amazing! The new owner has all the new clips that pop in. I would just need to run the new wires.
EEDBC556-A830-4288-9D13-0AC2B593C99E (resized).jpegI have the purple one in the first picture on mine. It has been in for a few years. Works great. I would think as long as the numbers are the same, should work. I have gotten bad coils from Pinball life, never had a bad Pincoil from Marcos.
Quoted from Haggy38:Hi guys,
I need your help, on the Swirl ramp the solenoid AE-30-200 stopped working, Marcos doesn't got it on stock but there's another one with the same part number, it will work? Pinball life has another one different so which one.....

Are you sure the coil is broken?
Thanks so much! This is great.
Quoted from perryd:here is the tub when I pulled it from machine, still dirty...But should give you an idea...LMK if you need higher resolution file.

Yeah unfortunately, it's melted, the last owner installed the wrong one, I did replace Tip102.

Anyone know where to buy different rubber/ superbands type post for the lightning lamp? Seem to just be able to find black and yellow.

Titan has them in multiple colors.

Ah, sounds like a legitimate failure! Thanks for the reply.
Quoted from wolfemaaan:So, for those that got the Genie Eyes mod, is it worth $40?
Seems like you could make this for $10

I never understood this. Why not just put a blue flasher bulb in the Genie and get the same effect for $1.25?

I did just that, a blue flasher led inside. Close to the same. I did get a fireball lit for the genie's hand . Lights up during the genie throwing it. Pretty nice, easy to do. Lots of mods for this title.

Check post #595 for it, he does nice work, had it a couple of years.
Well! I bought a TOTAN finally! Super excited. It is a major fixer upper and total ultimate player machine. However, I plan to do my first full pinball restoration on it. First order of business is get it working properly. Several things I’m missing or not working but the main thing I see is the ramp gate is completely missing. Attached are some photos of what I need. The part number is...
A-20847
I can’t find it anywhere online. Suggestions? The photo of the entire assembly is what I have missing. Any help would Be much appreciated.
Thank you!

I put a red bulb in my Genie and I like the effect even better.

It appears to be included in this setup
I found the ramp gate at Marco after some digging! $3.95 if anyone else needs one. In other news. Today I spent 13 hours shopping my totan. Got a ton done. Tore it completely down, cleaned the scum up ( there was a LOT), flame polished ramps, LED conversion (warm white), and new posts. Just need to get my right sling working and the ramp diverted/gate! Played for about an hour with no gate love this game. Here’s a before and after peak. I’ll post more later.

I even changed the translite ... I think it came out pretty nice. This is by far one of the most detailed games ever made. Can't wait to see what he comes up with next over at deep root.

Fastenal.com pretty much has everything you will ever need in hardware. I have started to get all brass hardware topside on my Indy.

Yeah they didn’t even have it. I went to Ace and the had a self drilling version of it so I’ll just dremel the tip off
Ok, so either Marcos has these part numbers wrong or the Manual is backwards. According to Marcos, There are 2 Yellow Targets, the thin target (A-18530-6) and Thicker one (A-18017-6). But looking at the originals installed and pics on the net, these numbers in the manual appear to be reversed. For instance in the Manual (2-33), #33 calls for a Thick Yellow according to Marcos’s part number (A-18017-6) but clearly the pictures I see are of the thin target. Even the Manual calls (A-18017-6) a “Yellow Standup Mini Target” which to me would be the thin one.
So did I miss read this or does Marcos have their part numbers wrong?
F8333C51-1A09-43F1-9A3E-DD3B5C4C98FC (resized).jpeg
thinner one is for Bazaar and ramp targets, fatter one is for targets next to genie and in the captive ball areas
Edit: I believe the manual is backwards, or at least the images in the illustrations are
The effects are great, but I think I would tone the light down a little. Im a fan of TOTAN as is over most Pins as it has the right balance of light, darkness, and colors. I could see this though being much better on an Indiana Jones Williams which is too dark in general. Im gonna pick one up soon after I finish this current build
Quoted from TheCapn:If you wanted to see what this game looks like with Fusion...
Wow. This is way too bright. Beware of the epileptic crisis: the Leds are already really bright but there it’s too much.
Maybe one day one will realize that this is really bad for the eye health.
Not a fan of the mod either. Maybe for really dark pin...
Have you ever been to a pool at night, when it's completely dark out but the lights inside the pool are on and the water is still? It's an eerie, mysterious glow beneath the glassy surface. That's the same feeling looking down onto a TOTAN playfield. Pinstadiums are great in some games (might get them for my Baywatch) but I wouldn't want them in my TOTAN.

That's a very excellent description. There's something very cool about the colors in the darkness of TOTAN that is part of its mystery. I've torn apart many pins but the use of color and lights in the game give it a specific ambiance which cannot be interrupted by brightness. Its like my KISS 78. Its the one machine that will always have incandescent bulbs as any LEDs ruin its warm natural color
I haven't found a game yet that's been improved by pinstadiums. Contrast in lighting sets the ambient mood of games. Some titles could use a spot or two though. Roman glass is a way better fit for totan and most other titles.
So the path is over, Totan has been restored, I’m pretty happy with the results.

So I just upgraded my code to 1.4 mainly because when the ball is on the genie magnet for a mode start it would just drop the ball SDTM. After the update I still get the same thing after the mode start it just drops ball. I just watched videos and see some try and move the ball before it drops it.
All I see in the menu is Magnet Trow I set it to 3 from Factory setting of 1 but still no difference. Is there something i'm missing or need to set somewhere else?

I had this problem too. messing with the throw setting never quite fixed it, so I un-leveled the game side to side slightly, and this fixed all the gravity drops SDTM. The ball will now catch the tip of a flipper when that happens.
New to the club as of Sunday, and I've gotten thru about 11 pages so far.
Anyone bought the CPR glass for this game and how does it look vs the translight? Are the colors more vibrant?
I saw it mentioned a few times about some sort of guard on the skill shot ramp. I know some clear tubing was mentioned. Has anyone tried some clear heat shrink? I was thinking that it might stick in place better when shrunk...
