Removing the cabinet decal from the worst of the 2 cabinets.

And this is how I do it. Propane torch and a gasket scraper. Keep the flame moving and bubble up a section of the decal then scrape it off. This leaves just a little glue residue to deal with later. Maybe not a "how to" because I'm sure others have better methods but this is what works for me.

Yeah, kind of crazy I know, but it gets the job done.

I used a heat gun. But either way, elbow grease is necessary.

Get the Goof-Off out! Time to remove the glue residue..

Cabinet decals showed up from Russia today. I knew that orange was going to be more red on these so I am fine with the color being off. The overall quality of the decals seams pretty good so I am happy with these. The cabinet these are going on had holes drilled all over it and other damage so it will be nice to get it all repaired and a fresh set of decals put on.

Cabinet is cleaned up. Time to get the holes repaired. I first fill the holes with wooden dowels. I glue them in, they should fit tightly and be hammered in.

Dowels glued in. The cabinet will be ready for more work by tomorrow when the glue is dry.

I use a course grinding disc to dish out the areas where the dowels are glued in.

I fill the deeper areas with a short strand fiberglass reinforced filler.

Sanded the fiberglass filler, next step is more filler. This time it’s just regular body filler.
