Hi guys, i unboxed my TNA 2 weeks ago, so it's time to have a little debrief.
So first.. i love this game. Unconditionnaly. I nerver had a pinball with such a strong spirit, definitely fun-oriented and deeply immersive.
You have to play wisely if you want to achieve high scores, and I love it.
The design is awesome, really, event the coating of the legs is beautiful!
The lighshow is the best i ever seen, and the music as well.
I love the cool spirit of Spooky, also, like the small qualitycheck stickers, the "ugly blue box", etc... they are like none other pinball constructors.

Now... for the cons part.
when i unboxed it, i discovered that 2 leg protectors were misaligned. I had to unscrew them and fix them a bit upper, which was quite uneasez because of the existing screwholes.

I had the famous "post problem", but i ordered the rubber washers, so no big deal.
20200510_114848 (resized).jpg20200510_114848 (resized).jpg
The shaker is very heavy, and everything rumbles in here!
so... i use some gum tape dedicated to door isolation. I put some behind the back panel, beneath the back panel, between the back panel and the translite, and in the back gutter wich holds the glass (sorry for my english....)
20200516_175116 (resized).jpg20200516_175116 (resized).jpg
Even though, i find it very loud (even set to Low) and i wish it was programmed differently.
For example, when the reactor is overheated, it shakes continuously. I'd rather like it shakes by phase, like bbBbbrrrrr......bbBbbrrrrr.... bbBbbrrrrrr...., like an alarm, you see?
Speaking of noises...
the fan IS loud. but funnily, mine is exactly tuned to the main theme music, so it doesn't disturb that much. Anyway i plan to change it soon

aaaaaaand finally...
i really dislike the rattling of the beamer. What is the best tip to get rid of it, please?

Last annoyance: one of the GI bulb passed away after only 10 days. Now it only blinks red and white. i plan to order a few from pinballlife, but if someone in Europe got one to sell, it would be nice, as the sipping fees are really expensive now.

Thanx guys, it's a pleasure reading your posts here.

Quoted from THEFOZ:

Here’s the reactor coolant pump and fan sketch. Ridiculous? Jump to conclusions mat?
[quoted image]

Dude, awesome idea!

Hi guys,
Has anyone pimped his TNA with anodized lock nuts?

Thanx!

Quoted from 27dnast:

FINALLY got around to installing some mods... the new drain timer with added LEDs, Lermod’s flipper toppers, Lit drop targets, and the quiet fan.
All are great additions... I can’t believe how much fan noise the OEM fan had!

What are the Lermod's flipper toppers, please?
I couldn't find the by googling...

Scott, now the shaker is too weak, please fix it!!!!

.....

...I'm joking! Fat chance!
Thanx for your awesome work.

Quoted from procks:

I updated to the new firmware and now when the machine tries to start the screen just flashes HDMI No Signal a few times and then goes black. Any ideas?

Are you able to launch a game?

If so, maybe you just disconnected the HDMI cable accidentally..

What do you ladies and gentlemen think of this?

I shrunk down the reactor status and reactor value and moved it down a bit and to the right to make room for the scores on the LCD. I think this looks pretty good. The scores also do not go all the way up, so tall people will be able to see the top of the text without issue.
--Scott

Hi Scott,
To my taste, i prefer as it is right now.
I do not feel the need to have the 4 scores on the LCD screen

Hello,
Do you know how i could get the "Welcome tu the Future" title neat and clean?
I am planning to do a sticker to put on the coin door.

Thanx for helping.

Quoted from Maleko:

I just noticed the backglass art on my TNA is separating/cracking in various spots. Anyone else experiencing this?
[quoted image]

Hi, i noticed it too on mine, #303.
But i suppose it is intended, as it gives a kind of "electricity effect". Am i wrong? I will share some shots of the rear of the glass.
It is not really crackling, it's rather a kind of "glue" on the backglass...

Nice crash yesterday. Just after exploding reactor 1.
The machine shut down and reboot.
First time it ever happened.
Is there a known bug?

#8376 2 years ago
Quoted from northvibe:

Do you know if the full game rebooted (gi lights etc) or did the screen just reboot?

To be honest, I'm not sure...
Why this question?

Quoted from northvibe:

Do you know if the full game rebooted (gi lights etc) or did the screen just reboot?

All i can tell, the system rebooted (loading bar)

Hi,
my 12v Power supply died during a 2 days exhibition (sob)
Could you tell me where to find a brand new one?
I cannot find the item on Pinball Life....

#8414 2 years ago
Quoted from TheNoTrashCougar:

The 12v/5v power supply is a Meanwell RD-65a. The "a" at the end of the part number is important, so make sure you get the correct one. You can get these almost anywhere on the web. They are also not really expensive, which is awesome. Sorry your game went down.
--Scott

Thanx Scott.
It is not that bad, I was super happy to show this game, it played non stop, people really loved it and gave warm feedbacks.
