For those of you with Tron Pros, which did you go with and why? I watched the YouTube vids on both, and they both basically look the same?

ELI all the way. Easy and bulletproof, got over 3 years running in a played daily game. And it's still going strong.

Wrong. Timebandit GI theatre the way to go. Plus his ramp clips require no drilling of the ramps. Excellent customer support as well. No brainer.

Timebandit product is very well made and the level of support is amazing.....

So what's the real difference between the two?

Quoted from twinmice:

So what's the real difference between the two?

Hardware.. Under the playfield and in the backbox..
- Eli's kit looks more invisible in the machine and more "factory"; a tiny main board that slots beautifully into place, and machined aluminum blocks holding the LED hardware under the playfield. It really is one of the greatest-made mods out there.
- Total Lightshow looks more after-market, with a bigger main board in the backbox and more cabling. LED pods at the end of the optic fibers instead of the aluminum blocks.

Hardware.. On the playfield..
- Eli kit uses the same drilling and cable tie mounting method as Stern for the optic fibers.
- TLS uses mounting clips for the fibers.

Software..
- Eli kit uses the CPU bus to sniff for lamp-based triggers. This reduces the hardware requirement and has a clean source signal, but limits the behaviour to insert lamp-based events.
- TLS uses the lamp matrix and switch matrix outputs for triggers. TLS can respond to switch events as well as lamp events, which allows more events to be used to trigger effects, and therefore has a larger universe of effects built in. The lamp matrix signal requires extra terminating resistors (included) to ensure the signal is clean enough for reliable triggering.

TL;DR - Eli kit looks more factory, TLS has more effects.

Well here's something new you can do with Total Lightshow..

I had both, get the TLS, it's better but most importantly it's still supported!

Hi I just purchased my first machine, a NIB Tron Pro. Was looking for illumination kits, either the Eli Ramp kit or Total Lightshow and can’t seem to find any for purchase. Hoping I could get a lead.

Thanks

I don't know why I waited so long to do this... wish the total light show was still being sold.
Can't imagine what shipping would be like these days though.
