Does anyone know if Pinside is correct in stating that only 300 IMVEs were produced?

I was told by my distributor the original plan was for 300 VE units from Stern but they increased the run to a little over 500 due to demand. There is still demand...prices are rising again...

+1 , I heard around 500 too...

One of the top 5 games of all time. Demand will always be there.

I can only prove they made one. But it was an important one

Thanks for the info

Not enough.

I really want one but my next game will have to be kept on route and it's a terrible location game. Way too hard for beginners.

It took me a long time to fall in love with this one but now it's one of my favs.

IM earns well here and there are two on location near me. They an be set up easier and moving in the posts really helps. I'm glad I got my VE as IM is one of my all time favorites

Also they stand up really well to location play even w/little maintenance.

I know it's made me a better player.

We have a VE on route in downtown Salt Lake City that sees good play, but it's also well maintained and it's holding up well.

Yup - I've noticed prices going up as well. Great game!

#14 4 years ago

Happy to hear it's doing well on location.
I never operated one, I just found as a player it drove me nuts at a dollar a game.
I play it all the time in NYC but I have never seen another person playing it.

Iron Man is a Pure Ball buster when set up with a good pitch and waxed

easy skill shot is turned off

#16 4 years ago

They definitely made mine and I'm keeping it!

#17 4 years ago

I'm really glad I was able to pick up a VE.....one of my all time favorites now.

I love my IMVE. Gonna pair my new SM with it....

Now, all I need is Avengers, X-Men and my 13 year old son can have the ultimate Marvel Collection! (evil laugh!!)...

....hopefully he won't find out about the older Hulk and Spidey pins....

That's just playfield numbers. They make a lot more play fields than actual machines. Hundreds more, in fact. The way that Stern serials games, makes it hard to track production numbers. This is mainly because at any given time, they are producing multiple titles and SOMETIMES, they just pull those serial number stickers from the same roll(s). But, it is not impossible to track, as some on Pinside have implied.

Here are some Stern hints:
They only use a serial # once.
The earliest (lowest serials) form each run are usually exported machines. This typically accounts for 40-60% of the run.
They rarely skip serial numbers, picking up right where they left off on the previous run of machines.
The lowest run is typically a block of 200 machines. (Not always, as some are 100. Some are even less..)
Multiple runs is the standard rule on machines.
The customers do not directly or exclusively determine the demand for a game, the distributors do.
There are always at least 2-3 titles being made at the same time.
The highest play field serials are always much higher than the number of games produced.
If you have a severely damaged or warped play field and send (or deliver) the defective one to Stern, they may swap it out for you if you can provide evidence, and are polite.
http://www.ipsnd.net/ is a great resource for entering and tracking serial #'s.
Sega/DE pins followed these same rules, for the most part.

Loving my IMV. So glad that i decided to go with it. When a bargain comes a knocking you cant say no!

There needs to be a IMV club.

This is a FANTASTIC game which I will never buy unless they do a re theme.
If you called it BIZARRE MANIA ( or something unique ) and wrote an original set of call outs and rules. It WOULD sell to people like me.
FXXK the licenses, boring as bat shit!

There's an Iron Man club. Search for adrenaline fans.

Look again.

#34 4 years ago

Yeah I have no idea but the consensus seemed to be that they made right around 500 VE's to put the total number of IM's around 1600 or so.

Appears they needed to make more.

Sure is a rush!
