plugging in to watch for updates
I think the launch party at PBL next month will get some new deposits...I for one can't wait to see it in person and get to play.
Let these guys breathe! You want good quality right? Let them get the assy down to a science and they will start cranking them out.
Quoted from TigerLaw:
Totally agreed! That said, I'm not seeing anyone rushing them in this thread. We are all just really excited to get our games. The only anxiety here is caused by our collective enthusiasm.
I'm with ya - what I can't wait for is to see and play them at PBL, then I'll start waiting for them to ship in qty...
Quoted from rai:
Can I get any new reviews from people who have played it recently, did it live up to expectations is it better or worse than you imagined?
Closest (comparison) to me was Predator.
What I mean Predator was a new game, new designer, exciting gameplay video, lots of buz, decent bad price, home brew or boutique pin.
Predator was different than TNA because it was licensed (falsely claimed), had no previous building experience behind it (like Spooky) there was a lot of question marks around Predator and it stalled in the pre production stage. So I don't want to relate too much with the comparison to TNA. But my point is, I never played Predator, but it was played at various shows and I believe that was where is fell down even before the production, pre-pay fiasco. I read many reviews saying it was just meh.
I just want back to refresh my memory of Predator (before the fiasco) and the game reviews were mixed to poor. At the shows people said it was constantly breaking down, ball stuck, long ball times, some said just not fun to play. And people seemed to be buying it for the theme more than anything else.
For me once IMVE was released at the same price it didn't even make sense to buy a Predator because I was not in love with the Predator theme, and I figured IMVE same price, proven production, proven rules was a much safer buy.
Opposite that TNA looks rock solid although I have not watched all the video streams, I saw one ball stuck way back on the first video (when the game didn't know a ball was locked). Everyone seems to love the gameplay, I have never heard anyone say meh about TNA. It's 100% more put together than Predator, much better art and build quality and is shipping now so no questions there.
I just like to hear more reviews of people who have played it.
October 12th - 13th ... plenty of people will play it
Can we get a list of unique items like boardset version, etc so I can buy some spare stuff if something breaks down the road....
Quoted from SpookyCharlie:
All mechanical parts will be available at Pinball Life and aren't going anywhere anytime soon. When we have time to document all this for public record, we'll do our best. We're 5 games deep, and 1 email is all it takes to ever find out what ya' need if something breaks.
I'm not worried about the mech stuff - just the boards - I'd like to have some spares - Im sure revs will change or they will move to producing a different one...
Quoted from TheNoTrashCougar:
Keep in mind this is not a cheap build. We worked extremely hard to get the retail price where it is. Also, don't use the links I posted. New ones will be posted soon.
Perfect that's exactly what I needed. It's my background with Air Force logistics still kicking in...
Quoted from SpookyCharlie:
Pinball Life will also be a supplier for the TnA boards if you'd like to grab spares... it's a tried and true product and REALLY robust! Scott and I have both tried to murder them in various ways. It can be done but you REALLY gotta screw up.
Awesome - Hopefully I inspire people to think about this and he sells a ton of them.
If you are worried about those tiny marks - you shouldn't play your game. That is nothing for the amount of plays...
Quoted from Chosen_S:
I just placed my email order with KT, deposit coming!
Scott, I played the Whitewood last year at TPF and was immediately hooked. It inspired me to add custom music to my Gamatron , which I feel like these games may have some sort of spiritual relation
By the way... the inspiration for adding in the music to Gamatron came from following your blog of TA before you had brought out the Whitewood to share. Major Kudos !
What number are the up to?
Quoted from FatPanda:
Hopefully i'm in this batch that people are talking about. I won't try to get excited until I get my email though. I don't like to get overly excited lol.
*checks email every 3 minutes*
If they stuck to the 25 at a time - 150 is probably the cap so we will have a few weeks yet...
Quoted from TigerLaw:
I was thinking that initially as well, but they have built some out of order (butter cabs, ops, shows) so the 150 number is not indicative of being the last of 25.
My 174 is getting close for me.
I do think we will be in the next batch of "pay your balance" emails that go out. And that means at least 2 weeks till they ship from that point.
Just got an email asking for build config confirmation - #167 on the line in a few weeks.
Plan for me is to pick up #167 on the 29th by request since I'm going to Green Bay anyway...
Finally picked up #167 on the way to my nephew's graduation/eagle scout ceremony. He got to challenge Green Bay's mayor Jim Schmitt to a game. KT at Spooky was awesome and gave us the grand tour.
