Uh, is this a joke? Who is doing the artwork for this? Its off the charts bad. I thought the AMH one was horrific as well. Same artist (using term lightly).
Seriously, spend a few grand and have a real illustrator or graphic artist work on these.

There's TONS of incredible art packages on 80's machines. Yeah some were cheesy but they were consistent.
This eye sore has line art, clip art, stock photos, water color painting, etc. all mixed together - it is just unforgivable. PICK a STYLE and run with it.
The font styles are all over the place too. It hurts my eyes and my brain to look at this mess.
Quoted from konjurer:Uh, is this a joke?
Really dude? If you don't like it that's okay but your comment is a little over the top. It's supposed to look like a 1980s game complete with a 1980s techno soundtrack. As such, it's a freaking cool concept and well executed.
I don't understand why everyone has a hard on for this game. Its SO BASIC. Is it because its a few bucks cheaper than other new games?
Some 80's designs. Just sayin...

-EDITED for BUTT HURT Pinsiders-
There's so much real estate on the playfield that could have been utilized and filled with amazing illustrations. The theme ROCKS but there's just too much empty space and simple line art.
The other thing that bothers me is it looks photoshopped, meaning it doesn't look screen printed like EVERY machine from the 80's which used dots patterns, lines, color traps, etc.
As for the rules and layout being basic, i actually LIKE that aspect of it, just think a little more could have been done. The new games are so deep you have to read a thick manual to learn all the rules, and then if you feel like getting anywhere in the game you need to set aside 20-40 min or even hours to get through it. I like fast, brutal games that rely on skill and have a straight forward rule set.
All that being said, if you guys like it, that's awesome. It just doesn't do it for me.
Sure, i have a bunch of work i could show you. The corporate stuff is pretty boring. Logos, websites, brochures, etc. I retired and shelved all that about 8 years ago. Since then i've been working exclusively on restoring my own collection. Mostly restoring original artwork for arcade games from the 80's and a few from the 70's and 90's. However some games had no art packages or very limited artwork, for those i came up with custom artwork. I tried very hard to match the artwork style of the manufacturer and the era the game was built.
Quoted from trilogybeer:You say you weren't trying to offend and then put the word artist in quotes and say it looks like something a teenager that just learned photoshop did . Clearly you are trying to offend. I have no problem with someone saying something offensive , but why say you are not trying to offend and then say something offensive in the very next sentence? At least own your stance on the artwork . Care to post any of your artwork on pinside? If you have been doing this for 30 plus years you should have nothing to worry about .
More name-calling. You're got a reputation for being an a-hole yourself there buddy. Also would never want to go into your house anyway, the stench of pot would be overwhelming I'm sure.
Quoted from Aurich:It's not crazy to tell people they're being assholes when they say stupid things like the artist must be an intern because Spooky and Scott are cheap and lazy though. Scott, Charlie, and Matt are right here, reading this thread ffs.
Don't like the art, who cares. But show some class. Some of the people in this thread wouldn't be welcome in my house, that's for damn sure.
LOL, the simple playfield has been done before.
Quoted from fantarama:I've played a fair amount of pinballs and pretty much all have complex art all over the place. To be honest this concept of plain art to be able to see the moving ball is quite revolutionary, I can't wrap my head around the fact that no body came up with that before... thats really weird if you come to think about it! You guys should contact NASA.
Found the perfect outfit to wear while playing this machine.
