After playing this game this weekend and watching countless others play it at SFGE, I'm sold on it. Hoping Spooky can pull it off, amazing pin for a homebru.....
Question for Spooky (and others who may know): what brand parts are being used for common items such as flipper assemblies, slingshots, targets, etc.?? Are these Spooky specific or do they interchange with other manufacturers (B/W, Stern)? While I understand and realize that every pin has game-specific parts it would be nice to know that commonly replaced wear type items are interchangeable with other brands, thus making long term ownership more feasible....
Quoted from rai:Shaker?
Doesn't need one, the bass box takes care of that...........
Quoted from xeneize:Does it really? Will the production sound system really rock THAT hard? Awesome, if that is indeed the case. However, if it's an exaggeration, I definitely hope that TNA comes wired to easily add a shaker... I simply cannot wait for this game!
Put it this way: at SFGE17 the TNA whitewood pin was sitting in middle of a large hotel ballroom surround by 250-300 other pins and video games. It was EASILY the loudest and cleanest sounding pin there, with bass that you felt in your chest while playing.....the sound alone drew a crowd like moths to a flame!!!
For those of y'all who have played it for more than the 4-5 games I played at SFGE: are the modes linear or random?? I know you try to work your way thru the reactors, but is the order of reactors and the objective needed to destroy each reactor the same every time? Thinking back to my two favorite Lawlor games I always enjoyed how on TZ you never knew which door panel mode you were playing next, however on RS, while still a favorite of mine, you always started on the East Coast going West, making the East Coast modes much more frequent than the ones on the West.
Quoted from konjurer:Although I've been really, really interested in getting this game the short ball times worry me. I don't like brutally difficult games. Are there adjustments on the game to make it less difficult?
It sounds like this game also shines as a multiplayer game but I play by myself 98% of the time. Will this be enjoyable as a single player game?
Guys, this is the best of '80s pinball brought into the 21st century. If your basis for pinball is DMD or newer you need to put yourself into a different mindset. TNA is the best of Flash Gordon, Centaur, etc. mixed with the best of modern day pinball. Simple in concept but difficult to master. Playing it at SFGE left me frustrated, yet walking away I wanted to come back for more. Play one, and you'll understand.....
Looks nice....are the ribbon cable connectors locked into place?? Worried about vibrations loosening them....
Quoted from Mr68:Setting the game to one reactor or playing with the glass off?
I'm torn.
Sorry, but no.....I want to earn it!!!
