Quoted from Cheeks:

Agreed on the cab, but the shaker is VERY WELL integrated.

Hmm. It's pre-drilled if I want to add it later right? I've installed shakers before, it's easy.

If I was to decide last minute I wanted it do I have to order from Pinball Life and have it shipped to Spooky or is it just a straight factory upgrade they can add last minute and bill me for?

You would need to order it from pinball life. My cabinet was predrilled and ready to go, so you can do it yourself if you like.

Cool thanks. If it’s a Pinball Life thing I’ll worry about it later, shaker install is easy.

#4654 6 years ago

Normally, shaker motor means very little to me. This game is different. Shaker is must-have.

#4655 6 years ago

Just had the right flipper return spring break, luckily had some spares in my tool box in car but for those on location you may want to have a few extras on hand and leave them in the cabinet for emergency.

Seems like this game should have a high score board that just keeps track of most reactors completed. Thoughts, Charlie? Scott?

Thought about it, but instead in the v1.1.0 that I will be releasing soon, it will use the last digit of the score to keep track of how many reactors were beaten.

I like that! Good use of the "useless" ones digit.

The coolest part about that is it will show up in tournaments and score tracking apps. Also high scores on Pinside!

I love this idea. TNA is an amazing game. So addictive. I was 1 shot away from
#4, bricked twice then drained. I’m already plotting my revenge.

I've already started using it when I enter scores into iScored, even though I obviously don't have 1.1.0 yet. I do think I'd still like a separate display on the game, though. I mean, we have "Spinner Winner" and "Bumper Thumper", but not "Reactor Ransacker"? Not a big deal either way, but it would be nice.

There's a recent stream somewhere where the new code is trialled and you can see it in action.

Unless I'm mistaken, the last digit reactor counter will only record in a high score if the score is on the board for being a high score. But there may be instances where you can defeat the most reactors and not get on the board, or defeat most reactors and be 4th on the board.

If I get 5 reactors I am rounding my score up for Pinside!

Yeah, but if a reactor is destroyed in the forest, but it's not multiplied, is it really destroyed at all?

Seriously though, I do like the idea of having a separate Reactor Count high score list, esp. as an operator of the game, as it gives newbies a simpler objective that counts for something, adding in multipliers when killing reactors is then more of an advanced move, as it should be. Also allowing the operator to configure if the list resets daily, weekly, monthly, etc. would be nice too.

#71 shipped today!

Question, Are people replacing the flipper springs with a different spring? I just want to be prepped for if/when those things break.

Unfortunately Lloyd, that great fix doesn't last for this game. Beefier springs are needed.

What springs do you recommend?

The current Stern flipper return springs seem to do the trick. And, is what TNA is now shipping with.

Are these breaking on lots of TNAs? I had one break on day 1, never had one break before on any game. Not a big deal, but weird.

#4674 6 years ago

They seem to be. Sounds like they changed the springs they are using now, so hopefully moving forward it won't be an issue.

I get the impression there was a bad batch of springs on ALL mechs coming out for a little while.

I had some break on SW and GOTG quicker than normal.

I am guessing that springs come on the whole mech from the supplier?

Dialed in day one spring broke when we unboxed it for the pintastic tournament bank. No biggie.

I finally got 4 reactors! 9 looks impossible at this point.

Started it, or destroyed it? Either way, nice job. I've only destroyed 4 once.

#4679 6 years ago

Destroyed it. Started it 3 times, but finally destroyed it. Now ready to try for 5.

#4680 6 years ago
Quoted from Russell:

nah, I keep getting better with practice. I have a feeling that some big games with that second EB after 6 reactors and I will be hitting 7 and looking for #8 in no time.

9 is almost perfectly tough. Out on the far horizon but I see it as doable.

#4681 6 years ago

Bowen almost got the 9th reactor. Good to see the really skilled players are finding it tough as well.

#4682 6 years ago

I sure hope the game goes totally ape-sh*t if you complete #9. I hate when I complete a wizard mode and nothing happens.

F'in hell! I said if Elwin posted a video of him killing the 9th reactor before mine arrived I'd cancel my order.
...mine is on a truck now, c'mon hurry!

Damn! It's a good thing I'm good at fixing 'em, 'cause I obviously suck at playing them. My best is to Reactor 4, with a score of 1.2M. And I thought that was awesome!

I haven't "played" this much pinball in years. I'm enjoying this game immensely!

Australian games are sitting in customs as we speak. If Customs had any sense of what is sitting there, they would release them before the weekend and put us all out of our misery.

I'm torn between setting it up at work for all of us to play $1 games or taking it home where I can play it in more depth, but less often as multiplayer.

I love how simple it is!

With game off, insert USB stick.
Turn on game
Game will tell you when it is done and to remove USB and power cycle.

New code is great! Scott continues to fine tune things and really put the polish on this game.
It is getting to the point where I have to stretch to find anything, lol.

My latest suggestion is to change the color in menus if you change something from default (so you remember what you changed when you look next time).
Pretty funny when that is all you can come up with

#4700 6 years ago

Decent player and all-around great guy Bowen Kerins will be streaming TNA today, Thursday 2/1 around 10 AM Spooky time (central).
