Quoted from lordloss:

I'd like to start a pinside fight/argument:
Sell as a Kit?

If they could sell as a complete kit no warranty maybe but just not worth the liability of unskilled purchasers messing it up.
The profit is in the mass production labor IMO.

#3302 2 years ago
Quoted from Whysnow:

TNA will officially be at Mad Rollin Pinball charity event in Madison this Saturday.
Game will be used in the side event so it will be available to all to play (all proceeds go to charity from the coin drop).
Basically, if you want a shot to play a production sample from team Spooky, then swing on over, support charity, and while you are at it, buy a raffle ticket to win a different pinball machine (again all for charity).

Oh man I can't wait!

#3303 2 years ago

I mean, the success rate of kits is off the charts!

Sorry but this wrong in some many ways!

#3306 2 years ago
Quoted from Whysnow:

just curious... is there that secret thing we talked about in the code? hoping it made it in.
also, what did you decide the reactor standups will be used for?

Oh gawd, are you telling me that TNA has unused targets, like the city inserts in Kiss? Say it isn't so!

#3307 2 years ago
Quoted from TheNoTrashCougar:

Yes it was, but then again, I can call it whatever number I want. The code is complete and there are no missing modes, animations, audio, etc. I will be doing a code update a bit after people start getting their games and bugs start being found. At this time, I have no plans to add anything else to the game, but who knows.
--Scott

I think you should call it "v1980", and then just increment the years/versions as you need to from there.

#3308 2 years ago
Quoted from Fytr:

I think that they accomplish the same as hitting a sling in the upper playfield area in terms of getting the reactor to melt down....i could be wrong though.

Disagree. If they did a kit in my eyes it would have to be a full playfield that drops into a donor cab. A full back box panel with few connections.....then people would want the kit to be 3k which would be a wash profit wise. Kit form is very vague so levels of costs estimates are a WAG anyway. Like stated before will not happen but fun to kick around idea.

I think he's saying that he disagrees with the notion that there is a ton of profit in production labor. I tend to share the same first-hand opinion. Labor is the single MOST expensive part in the manufacturing process... ESPECIALLY with pinball machines.

Just listened to the Coast to Coast pinball pod cast. Very cool interview!
From the sound of it, there has been many changes to the rules since I played it at MGC.

Hopefully someone will make a video explaining the rules and different strategies.

If you haven't seen any of the deadflip streams yet, I think the rules are explained thoroughly in each of the vids, IIRC.

True, I did see some of that, but it's hard to follow with all the background noise. I was thinking of something like the tutorials that PAPA puts together.

Would love to see Bowen play this game.

The super secret skillshot is not going to be in the game. I may add that later, but we will see. The reactor strandups are the fastest way to advance the reactor. Wanted to keep it simple as the game is already way more complicated that I originally visioned.

The Deadflip video said for 2k Scott would come and deliver the game personally and do a Deadflip video from your house for an unboxing party. While they were clearly kidding, that would actually be rather awesome.

By the way, can you change from three to four or five ball play in the settings? Just curious.

Gosh I'm looking forward to this game. Can't wait for more unboxing photos and videos.

For Bowen and Elwin yes.

Silly question: if you manage to destroy the 9 reactors, does the game end immediately?

It would be great to have a short grace period with music and lightshow going crescendo towards final destruction... "Total annihilation in 10...9...8..."

If you want to see the ending, set the number of reactors needed to be destroyed to one in the settings.

I know scott mentioned removing this adjustment. If it's does stay in may I suggest keeping the minimum to 5 or something. So at least to see it you have to work a bit and earn it.

I am not removing that adjustment. Just made the executive decision. It is too fun.

What is the most reactors anyone has destroyed on a video thus far? I've seen four on a few videos. Can't recall if I've seen five yet.

#3327 2 years ago

Four is the highest I remember seeing as well.

#3328 2 years ago

Charlie has gotten 5 , not on a stream though.

I got to 5 on a dead flip stream on the last game played. No cheat codes used. Haha

#3330 2 years ago

I played it at spooky and got to 4 but didn't defeat it. Exploiting the no flip skill helped.

Setting the game to one reactor or playing with the glass off?

I'm torn.

I ordered late last week and was #183. I would imagine several more orders get placed after the party this weekend.

#3342 2 years ago

God damnit, I need a bonus from work, stat!

#3343 2 years ago

Does that say game #45?

#3344 2 years ago

I think it says “#47”

If that is correct then wow! I’m #119, maybe I won’t have to wait until after the Holidays-

#3345 2 years ago

Awesome pics! I also saw #47, but does that mean the 45 other people have been hush hush about unboxing?!

#3346 2 years ago

I think it is a T7 (for "test 7")

I have not gotten the call yet and mine is #2. Fingers crossed I will get the call some day this week

Then it will be all.

#3347 2 years ago

Each time I see pictures of that machine is seems to look better and better. Hot damn I gots to get to stacking cash quicker cuz I need me one of those damn things!

#3348 2 years ago
