Any new tactics for getting the tilt dialed in? The one we just got tilts through a lot. Just mess with those two tilt settings or something else?

#6353 5 years ago
Quoted from Crile1:

Well guys, it's been a long road, but time to leave and move to the club thread. I've put my first 20 games on my new TNA and I gotta say, it's amazing. For those who like bling, Mustangpaul's leg light ups in purple look FANTASTIC on this game. I won them from a SDTM giveaway. Adios amigos...see you on the other side!

Oh so you won, I wondered who. Purple looks great.

#6354 5 years ago

Sorry if this was mentioned before.
has anyone figured out how to get the game not to give a tilt warning to player 2 before they have had a chance to plunge, if player 1 was real rough with the game?

The only option I see is the tilt bob needs to be really loose.
is there something with the timings?

put physical tilt in middle position (not too tough, not too easy)

and then mess with debounce. Depending on your game somewhere between 1000 and 1500ms should be best.

I would still like to see a bit more priority in code so tilt warning come through to the front ASAP.

#6356 5 years ago

I put a foam hearing protection plug in the hole the tilt bob attaches to. This seems to calm it down and it doesn’t tilt through as much. I may trim the size of the ear plug down a bit to fine tune the dampening.

I found that setting Sensitivity to 0 helped this a lot. Otherwise, I was seeing legitimate switch closures being ignored. Of course, if you do this, you'll also want dampen the movement using something like the earplug pickleric shows.

Anyone get a shipping notice today?

#6360 5 years ago

I did. I got my tracking code from Joe at PinballSTAR about an hour ago.

#6361 5 years ago

I notice people mentioning tilts and on my game since the newest code was installed there have been a couple instances where after a tilt, it stays tilted and requires a game reset (off/on) to reset it. Otherwise is stays tilted thru the next ball or player and won't spit a ball out.

I talked to K.T. at SFGE and 209 will be in July. Because I’m driving to pick it up, and schedules and stuff, probably later in the month.

Road trip from Georgia just to pick it up or are you coming to the Midwest for other reasons? Either way, sounds like you'll be heading home with an awesome machine!

#6369 5 years ago

I have to wait to pick up #270 because I was late on buying my mirror blades. I guess the blades get sent to Spooky in batches and I did not know that. So if anyone is close to getting their game and they haven't bought their addons I suggest doing it early. Gotta wait til Monday now!

Paul Kiefert and I did a series of DVDs on Pinball and video game topics called “Pins and Vids”. We had one more disc planned because I had an exclusive interview with Python Anghelo in 2012 but we never released it. I’m planning to interview Charley as a feature article and hopefully get it released this year.

The machine will be a bonus for sure!

Very cool! I still have my Pins and Vids DVDs. Between your DVDs, Clay's DVDs, and the Life After Death Stuff, we were getting some fun underground content for a while there. Now YouTube sort of killed the market for that, but I'd be in for another entry!

TNA Power Balls are on the way to our site, was told 30 days just a heads up. They will be $39 each and if you buy more than one price drops to $36.
I have been told people are paying $50 and thats just a bit much for me.....so I will be stocking them on my site.

Hookedonpinball.com

Also we have EL side panels in stock now and reordering in July for later runs.
This run and future runs have a remote flash option swictch if you would rather them blink (two speeds).
The original run also had this but the switch was located on the transformer box itself.

https://www.hookedonpinball.com/store/p115/Total-Nuclear-Annihilation-TNA-Side-Rail-Illumination-Kit-Pinball-Mod

Two more mods / bling coming in Aug.
This game gets the most play in my line up and it seems to still be gaining steam.

Sorry for the dumb questions but what are "Power Balls" for TNA?

A ceramic pinball that is lighter. They can be put into just about any game, but they are not magnetic.

This price just changed within the last few minutes. It was $49.95 five minutes ago.

This brings up an interesting point. Thinking about this, I googled "1 1/16 inch ceramic ball" and was met with balls that cost only $1.49 in some cases. I clicked around for a bit and saw that they had various grades. That's as far as I got into my little research. Does the grade cover smoothness, density, weight, hardness, etc? What's the grade of a "Powerball" sold by PBL, Marco, HOP?

Just something for someone to consider.

I'm not sure, but grade 100 must be lit!

I misspoke. The result was of 1.49 was for 1/16 inch ceramic ball. My bad

Still...could be something worth looking into

#6391 5 years ago

Yes after going through three vendors what your looking for is G10 know one makes a G05 in ceramic from what i was told. G10 is the closest to perfect ceramic i had found again after being told by two manufacturers G05 has never been made. Im sure pbl has the same spec as the original? Unsure spec that is and Terry always sells top quality parts as we all know.

If it's as good as those white rubbers he sent me, how could we lose.

The grade refers to the diameter tolerance in millionths of an inch. Lower grade is more perfectly round and costs more.

Powerballs are faster than regular pinballs. Some folks are putting one or more in their games to make the game even faster, and additionally some like the way the white balls look in the game.

Selling my spot as I no longer need it. #226 so should be ready in July. PM if interested. Ad on marketplace too.

Is that a $500 upcharge over your cost?

Seems like a pretty good deal for someone not wanting to wait once the game is ready to ship.

Thanks. With the premium I paid to get the spot initially and the extras I've already bought for it and including in the purchase (mirrors, shaker, etc), it's actually less than 500. At this point, trying to move it at the most reasonable rate considering the market for it.

The wait time seems to get longer and longer too.
