Attack From Mars (Remake - LE)
Chicago Gaming Co., 2017Just bought my AFMR LE and topper isn’t working. White led’s on alien are on and eyes are lit but when going into tests the Motor and saucers aren’t functioning. On boot-up saucers light and do one revolution but nothing in tests. Any help would be appreciated but will default to Chicago Gaming on Monday.

On the larger board to the right, do you have SOL 1.0 or SOL 2.0 printed on one of the rectangular chips?

Some 1.0 are for topper, some aren't. Either one of the 1.0 PICs, leave coil settings at default until you get 2.0 in the game.

As crazy as this sounds. It is true. Get the updated 2.0 chip from your distributor and the topper will begin to work.
Upsetting that quality control can't put these in on new games before they ship. However it is a very easy process to install.
Important on the chip there will be a notch on the right or the left. Make sure when installing the new chip the notch is in the same direction. Do not only go by the sticker on the chip. Sometimes in error people can put the stickers on wrong and it will burn out the chip instantly. Just Match the direction of the notch to the old one prior removing it.

His PIC might not be labeled.
And not all versions are for the topper. Even some of the 1.0 were for it and some weren't. I don't know if any of the 2.0's wouldn't run it. If the label on it says 1.0, again please leave coil settings at default until you get the new PIC in there.
If in doubt open a ticket at http://www.chicago-gaming.com/ under support on the help desk. They can look up what is in your game by serial number. It may go to me but I'll kick it up to the engineers.
