The outrage is coming from 3 different points.

1) it's $600 FFS
2) it looks like a piece of $h!t
3) People believe that they should get the full package at the time of initial purchase, or at the very least free code upgrades.

How many people who had initially thought of buying a TMNT are thinking to themselves "What are Stern holding back on, and what are they going to charge me at a later date to 'complete' the game"

I can only see this reducing the sales, or at least people delaying, of any future releases.

It seems a very strange time to release this just after they have released TMNT, thus potentially reducing sales, AND just before JJP is about to announce their latest machine. I can see people waiting to see what JJP are going to do before committing to a new machine from Stern.

Had I known that this topper was coming, it probably wouldn't have put me off buying JP2, but it certainly would have made me think a little harder.

The REAL test of worth will come when someone comes to sell their machine with a topper on, compared to someone selling without.

What will the price difference be then? I bet it's not $600

The main thing that irks me, and I'm guessing many others, is that this code/feature wasn't in any of the feature matrixes at time of release.

It was added after people had made the full purchase, based on what was advertised, but then released at a later date for $600

I have no problem with Madness on IMDn Prem, nor additional mb on Tron LE, as these were clearly advertised as being one of the perks for ordering an LE, completely different argument.

It's the way this is released months after the fact that is seen as underhand.

I don't even believe that it can be likened to DLC for computer games. These games are generally extremely high volume so adding an option to buy a different coloured skin, or upgrade weapons earlier, or even an additional level to play means that the developer can get away with only charging a couple of quid because of the high volumes likely to be sold.

Releasing a limited number of toppers with this code at such a high price makes it abhorrent.

Quoted from DakotaMike:

I don't get why everyone makes/uses the over-the-ear masks. My wife made everyone in the family masks that have horizontally-oriented elastic bands on the top and bottom corners. So the bottom band goes just above your neck, and the top band goes around the wider part of the back of your head. Keeps the mask just as tight, and seems a lot more comfortable than having something pulling on your ears all the time. And if you want to pull the mask down temporarily, you just slip the top band over your head and you've got a stylish mask-scarf vs. an oversized earing.

Because the over-ear or tie back ones are able to be taken off and put on maintaining the sterile field. The mask you describe could not.
Also once on a mask should not be touched - so pulling the mask down temporarily should never be a thing.

More often than not, there's a reason the way things are designed and don't need 'improving' on, thus defeating the object of them in the first place.

Quoted from DakotaMike:

Masks are taken down in people's cars between stores, or for any number of reasons. Are you suggesting someone put on their mask for a shopping trip, and never remove it, even while driving

That's EXACTLY what should be done, but whatever you think is for the best.
