I hope we get some more clarification on the mode soon.
If it's a light/sound show, or maybe even some extra graphics on the display, I think that would be fun.
If it's really DLC, pitchforks are coming out.

Quoted from delt31:special mode has to be code related. If not, then it's false advertising on top of it! Either way, it's absolutely terrible.
I know there are a ton of suckers out there buying Elvira SE 15k, SW toppers - for the love of god.....don't buy this BS.
I guess I'm trying to be optimistic and was thinking maybe once you spell Jurassic Park, the topper does something special. Like maybe there's more to it than we can see in the picture. But I agree, it does sound like in game content.
The other potential sad side effect of this is Pinball Browser's demise. Someone else brought this up in the club thread, but it does seem related. If they are going hide secret content in the code, you can't have people poking around.
Quoted from mr2xbass:Pardon my ignorance.
The acronym "DLC" = ?
Downloadable Content. Basically the business model for all video games for the last few years.
Quoted from Darscot:Have to admit the progressive wizard mode sounds pretty cool.
No, it doesn't. Nothing about this is cool.
Quoted from Otto110:Well... it’s sold out already. Way to teach them a lesson!
Just gross. This is bad.
Quoted from Darscot:I don't know of a pin with a progressive wizard mode but I admit I'm not that knowledgeable. I have been hoping for data that carries over from game to game, if the wizard mode is great, this sounds pretty innovative (for pinball).
I take a step back from the rage for 1 second.
That does sound cool.
RageHat back on! My $6000+ toy should come with all of the bells and whistles.
Quoted from Dr-Willy:taking a page from Crazylevi's book.

Quoted from Stones:You have to spell out Jurassic Park on the topper? It carries over from game to game? Mustang did that...you spelled out M-u-s-t-a-n-g to get a special multiball. Cool idea when you had multiple players...playing. Spelling out Mustang by yourself was boring.
I had no idea they had already done this.
Quoted from CrazyLevi:All the talk in this thread about bending over and taking it is pretty hot. Keep it coming fellas!
This is the same as the car dealership selling us rust proofing!
Quoted from EricHadley:It’s official. I’m in!

I know you turned off your thumbs so I just wanted to let you know I gave your post a thumbs down.
Quoted from CrazyLevi:It amazes me how many people want to have sex with their pinball machines!
(it's hot keep it up)
More like coin sluts! Amirite?!
Hey yo!
Quoted from CrazyLevi:This may shock you but most places don’t set a selling price in direct accordance to what the bill of materials is or even what the “function” is.
It’s possible that someone at Stern did the math and figures that more people will pay more money for a Jurassic Park topper than they will for a Beatles topper, and set the price accordingly. It could be that the raw materials cost is exactly the same. In fact, Jurassic might even cost less to make!! The idea is to make as much money in sales as possible. This translates into more “profits.”
It may seem confusing, but when you explore the concept of “selling stuff” it’s often a complex deep dive.
There are baseball cards that have sold for over a million bucks. The BOM can’t be more than a few cents on those!
I don’t know how much wood and metal is involved in building a Gibson Les Paul, but I can assure you it isn’t $6999. And yet....that’s what some new ones sell for!
It’s crazy.
And the guitargument is born
Quoted from NeilMcRae:blowup turdsuit
I thought this was funny and then was like, you know what, this is almost definitely a thing.
Yep, it's a thing.

Thinking about it some more, I bet you guitar guys get into guitarguments all the time.
Quoted from jwilson:All this goat talk has me intrigued.
Quoted from calprog:The best topper for JP hands down!!!

It might be the best, but it's not THE ULTIMATE!
