Quoted from vid1900:

Those are knee-jerk answers from people who hate cinema.

I actually laughed out loud while reading this.

And that's a good thing.
Nobody wants to read 200 posts where everyone lists Citizen Kane, Shawshank, Shindler's List, and Godfather.

I'd rather watch Polyester than slog through Birth Of A Nation, no matter how **groundbreaking** the critics say it is.

Thank you for reminding me about Polyester! Haha. Im gonna watch it later, and I hope its as funny as I remember it 25ish years ago. I just love movies with shoe obsessed perverts.

You will laugh 100x more about the Boston Foot Stomper, than you ever would from Duck Soup

Thank you! Hopefully I get to watch both today, since I have a day off work to recover from all drinking during our three day pinball tournament.

Oh I forgot about LOTRs, the most epic fucking trilogy ever produced. All three are perfect in every way.

I saw them all in the theater, but not having read the books, I had a hard time keeping up and following everything. Then we watched the extended editions all the way through, and then I was like, I get it now. Amazingly cool films.

All The Right Moves - Tie - with The Matrix

All the right moves was good movie, I still remember the soundtrack was great and brought back memories of me in my teens watching the movie With my buddies in my basement.

Late to the party but based on their intense impact on me after I left the theater...

1. Star Wars (its impact on me when I was 9 cannot be over stated)
2. Aliens (maybe the most gripping, edge of your seat, adrenaline rides I ever experienced in a movie)
3. Braveheart (went in not knowing much and was blown away)
4. Galaxy Quest (maybe the most perfect movie ever made)
5. The Natural (best sports movie I ever seen)

Quoted from Pinstein:

Can folks add an additional top 5 for international films?

Det sjunde inseglet (the seventh seal)
la vita e bella (life is beautiful)
das boot (the u-boat)
le grand bleu (the big blue)
la leggenda del pianista sullóceano (legend of 1900)
