I can’t make a top 5. Too many movies to pick from for how I’m feeling and time of year. I agree with a lot of the movies listed, but one I haven’t seen is The Departed.

Edit: Also Sixth Sense threw me for a loop the first time I saw it. Fight Club is a classic. Step Brothers is a favorite. And this is why I can’t make a top 5.

I can't do all films, it has to go into at least a few categories.

Blazing Saddles
Animal House
Caddyshack
Young Frankenstein
Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Godfather
Jaws
Pulp Fiction
Dirty Harry
Taxi Driver

SciFi/Fantasy:

2001
Star Wars Empire Strikes Back
Aliens
Terminator 2
Raiders of the Lost Ark

Romantic Comedy:

Rope - 1948 Hitchcock

Not sure what my list would be (would most likely include The Matrix, The Gladiator, and Braveheart for sure), but these would be in contention for many people (trying not to repeat any that others have already mentioned):

- Ben-Hur (1959)
- The Sound of Music (1965)
- Fiddler on the Roof (1971)
- Blade Runner (1982)
- The Silence of the Lambs (1991)
- Braveheart (1995)

Oh, and probably need something of Eastwood's in the list - one of the westerns, Dirty Harry, or modern films.

You are certainly over your "top 5" for the thread that you started. You need to cut at least 4 of your own suggestions for this thread to have any value....
