    Quoted from jrpinball:

Mopar did mention "Diamond Jack", but I can't believe no one else mentioned "King of Diamonds"!
I'm an add-a-ball guy, but I'd say it's gotta be #1. It's so hard to name #2 and #3, but "North Star" and "Kings & Queens" are two I wouldn't argue with. All three replay games!!! Shame on me!

I agree with JR here. At least one small flipper game has to be in the top three. Small flipper games tend to have the best artwork, the 100 point gong bell, and back glass animation.

    Jacks Open
    Atlantis
    Gold Strike
But it all depends which one is playing nice with me!

    Quoted from Mopar:

And funny thing is, and not to disagree, but I traded of a KOD as soon as I went through it.
For me it was like night & day to DJ, which I myself especially like, but then again, N.S. didn't
do anything for me, but now that I have added space, I'll be resetting that one up, and willing
to give her some other tries..
Not a Wedge Head, but one Replay I've been advised to get set up is 1962 Trade Winds..

I love both DJ and KOD, but the rotating specials on KOD do it for me. Gotta have red lights!

I like the small flipper games better myself!

I didn't vote for my top 3 because I honestly haven't played enough of them to rate them all! I can say that the best part of EMs is that each one usually has something good going for it. Ed Krynski made some great games!

I saw Four Square on someones list. That game is awesome. Fast small flipper game!

    #57 2 years ago

Two inch flippers are very often maligned for no good reason. If they're shopped out properly, they have more than enough power to knock the ball around. I think it's easier to make accurate shots with them, and find that they are often more responsive and snappier than many three inch designs. There is science to back that up. Because they're shorter, they have a lower moment of inertia.

My preferences are: Centigrade 37, Golden Arrow and Flying Carpet

    #59 2 years ago

    Kings & Queens
    Buckaroo
    2001

The only ones I really know...always liked the look of Skyline, Central Park, Subway

    #60 2 years ago

I haven't played many Wedgeheads, but I love my Atlantis! I've also played Buckaroo and really enjoyed it.

    Quoted from jrpinball:

    "Road Race"/"Stock Car"
    "Big Casino"
    "TKO" (flame suit on)

I agree with Big Casino and Road Race as being among the worst
Have not played TKO enough (only a couple times at a show) to make true judgement
I might add Mibs and Domino to the list

"Mibs"? Wouldn't that also take in "Bowling Queen" and "Rack a Ball"? I don't care for the look of "Mibs" or several other wedgeheads for that matter, but play-wise, it's ok. "Domino" isn't too bad. I've had several copies of it's add-a-ball counterpart, "Play Mates", and it's a totally different game with basically the same playfield. I like the play of "Play Mates". In a way, it's similar to "Flipper".

    That's a fine list.

Yeah MIBS is same basic game as Bowling Queen and RaB
but the theme helps make me tolerate those.
I agree that Playmates AAB is much better player than Replay Domino.

    I have both B.Q and R-a-B
    Worth setting either up?

Never played it, but now considering to get a backglass for it..

A backglass for "Play Mates"? Other than BG Resto, you won't find one. Oh, yeah. You have your own source!

    Tough choice
Here are 3 of many great ones, not in any particular order....

    Jacks open
    Atlantis
    Centigrade 37

But then again Volley, sky jump, abra CA dabra can make top 3, tough pick

    #69 2 years ago

Tough choice, but Ill go with
    Central Park
    Slick chick
And long flipper: King Pin or Atlantis.

    .

    #70 2 years ago

I don't have enough wedge head time under my belt to judge, but I do like Domino. I just got a non working Volley and I can't wait to play it. It's encouraging to see others list it!

    #71 2 years ago

    Pro Football
    El Dorado
    Jack's open

Fell for it watching it on tournament streams:

Spent a long time to get it to play like that.. but when you do, it's an amazing game with so much potential for player skill.

    #76 1 year ago

This was a beautiful era. My top 3 would be
    #1 Buckaroo (cowpoke)
    #2 Centigrade 37
    #3 High Hand ( I know)
Ive only owned maybe 25 or so of these so there’s probably a gem out there i dont know about. But buckaroo and cowpoke have always been coveted since i got into in pinballs since mid 90’s

    #77 1 year ago
    Quoted from lostlumberjacks:

    #1 Buckaroo (cowpoke)

Just today something I've learned while playing Flipper Cowboy (which is the
same as Cowpoke), if tilted during a game, and the Roto Target shows the red
bullseye target for a free ball, if drained where the target is shown, it'll still give
a free ball even though the machine is in the Tilt mode.
I have Cowpoke set up also. I'll have to check if that's the same. If not, I'll have
to double check Flipper Cowboy's schematic to see if there's a problem there, or
it's just that they changed that part of the game 3 years later..

I’ve got a Jacks Open and El Dorado, what should be my next wedgehead?

I’ve played King of Diamonds and it is pretty fun, but I’m thinking I might like Sing Along instead.

    Any other suggestions?

Sing Along gets freshened up just a bit before the holiday season. It has that distinctive sound that I really like.

If you are going to group Majorettes and Slick Chick in the top three, the natural to complete the trifecta should be Gigi.

    Good choices by the way.

I have these 3, but haven't gone through Slick Chick or the Gigi.
Being mostly into AABs, I was thinking about trading those 2, but maybe
I should be doing some 2nd thinking?

Slick Chick is a no brainer. Play it before you decide.
I have Majorettes also which is, agreeably, an excellent game.
Gigi is very good. Again, worth playing before you decide.

Thanks ! Yeah I actually just picked up the three . Majorettes , slick chick and Gigi. I’ll soon have a pick of all three together. I hear people mention the bumper series of wedges and I’m guessing these three are the ones . I’d like to hear more info on that but can’t really find any
