Pinheads, what are the top 5 pins with the deepest rulesets and why? New/old GO!

I’m being a bit lazy, but I’ll throw out any JJP pin. They are all pretty deep.

Krupps4 All good! I know POTC, LOTR & TSPP are crazy deep and just trying to see what other games are on par or better

WPT is pretty deep as well.

LOTR and TSPP are certainly very deep games, and since their release they really were the standard bearer for deep games, but they have been being passed (in relation to code depth) as of late by newer Stern games coded by Lyman such as BM66.

As another has said, all the JJP games are crazy deep.

Stern Star Wars and Batman 66 both have plenty of code
Iron Maiden and Willy Wonka are also solid

Wow. I was going to write this exact same list. Honorable mention to WPT too, that has a crazy lot of layers.

I would place WPT and MET in the honorable mention category.

    BM66
    Hobbit
    Wonka
Elvira seems to be going that way
    POTC- JJP
    Simpson’s Party
    LOTR
    WOZ

Everyone’s lists are pretty solid. I’d throw in Oktoberfest. 14 modes. 4 wizard modes. 14 “steins” to influence game play.

    Punchy the clown

    Really deep

    #16 3 years ago

Here’s a really early one: Elektra.

Oktoberfest. Simpsons pinball party is listed as having the deepest rule set ever on pinside but I imagine that has changed.

    Hobbit
    Lotr
    Game of thrones
    Star wars
    Potc

    TSPP
    WOZ
    TWD
    Stern SW.

LOTR and TSPP for sure for newer, but some late model EM’s have deep rules for what they are. Hot tip EM has the three sequence drop target banks; where the first time down lights spinner, 2nd time lights EB and drops worth 1000pts, third time lights specials and drops worth 10,000 each from that point on, that’s pretty deep for an EM! Also, Gottlieb close encounters EM has up to 3X bonus at 20,000 max, so 60,000 bonus max, plus other great rules as well.

Maybe just an honorable mention, but Dr Who.

From the W-H-O shots, the ramp, the doctors, the video modes, and the Daleks on the raised platform... there is plenty to challenge a good player.

Another possible factor is which games take the longest in tourneys?

Star Wars, Batman 66, JP from stern all deep, but not as much as JJP or Simpsons
