I created an account with Pinside last night. And it now this morning it aloud me to post

Pinball Community

Tonight I have gathered with our Nitro Pinball family, which includes myself our Board of Directors and Investors.

I come to you late as we had to wait for some of them to return from their weekend with family.

I personally want to say “sorry” to Erin Elizabeth Shadensack and that “I do not condone” my husbands behaviour that took place on Thursday night.

We have unanimously agreed that Tommy step down as President of Nitro Pinball
and will be taking time to address his issues with alcohol and related behaviour.

I will be stepping in to run day to day operations ensuring we continue to provide exceptional sales & service to our customers.

Our team at Nitro will continue to support the community as we always have.

Regards,

Suzanne Floyd

Thanks for posting here and giving the community an update, Suzanne. I have verified your account, just so everyone knowns this new account is indeed you (I'm basing this on you registering your account under your company e-mail address).

As I posted yesterday: I don't need another bashing thread on Pinside. So I'm asking everyone to please keep things civil/respectful in here.

Thanks.

EDIT
I'm pissed at tommy and hope that he is never seen anywhere in the pinball community again.

Suzanne is probably going through enough.

I'm done with this topic.

Quoted from Mitch:

So tommy steps down, wife steps in. Income stays the same for them and nothing changes.
Glad to see no repercussions to tommy and pinside cabs keep advertising nitro

Why punish the whole family for the mistakes of one man. There are others that are employed by Nitro that have nothing to do with Tommy's behavior and they need to put food on the table, In any corporation the CEO/president typically is forced to resign and the company is run by others. I hope Tommy gets the help he needs with his alcohol and behavioral issues.

Alcohol is the worst.

Are you suggesting Stern should have closed up shop and went under in light of the Trudeau stuff? It’s not fair to associate a company with the personal actions of a single employee outside of the business - regardless of their position at the company.

Nitro has quickly concluded to do the right thing here.

Neither here nor there but I have a niece who is having a problem with meth and heroin and dying in front of our eyes.

So there is worse, trust me on this.

As she is an adult, there is little we can do in the matter and it grieves us terribly.

I have no problem with nitro staying in business but tommy and any related family should be removed.
When the Trudeau incident came to light stern scrapped all future projects he was working on and removed him from the company.

Come on dude, they just supposed to close the doors? This is the right move. Tommy can get help and get sober. I know from experience alcohol can make you do some stupid stuff. Not to excuse his behavior because now he has to deal with the consequences of his actions.

Don't even compare Trudeau incident to what Tommy did, i would bet this so called victim would be a problem for any man who dealt with her.

#12 4 months ago

Mitch, his wife did nothing wrong....she should live in a box because of this??
You know where I work, there are lots of people doing far worse then this and walking away with zero repercussions.

This public lambasting is a lot more punishment recieved then if she had gone to the police. (assuming first time)

Didn't mean to compare it to other substance abuse issues. I just had a friend succumb to opioids and a relative die of alcoholism, none of it is a good thing. His (alcoholism) final year of life as he literally drank himself to death is something that will stay with and haunt me forever. There was nothing we, his doctors or his family could do. Two teenage kids. They both looked and acted like completely different people during the last year, shells of themselves. Sorry for your niece.

She was a victim. Your comment is an attempt to marginalize the incident.

Maybe Tommy needs to say "sorry" himselve.

Good luck to you and your family and sorry you are having to deal with this yourself. I sincerely hope that Tommy can take this seriously and get the help to become a better person. He has a long road to walk and it sounds like a long list of people he will need to make amends to.

Keep us posted as things progress as I am sure people will want to see/hear about the progress Some, to ensure this is not merely an announcement for the business needs. Others, cause we believe anyone can change if they put in the genuine effort and commitment.

At least give a man a chance to make amends. One would hope the same would be applied to you if you made a mistake.

Quoted from jawjaw:

The person he assaulted, the members of the women's pinball community who have been complaining about this kind of behavior for years only to be faced with caveman comments like the one Pinbum offered up gleefully, and of course anybody with a sense of decency are under no obligation to do so. It's a pretty serious situation and frankly not every offense or offender is deserving of a "second chance," at least not 3 days later. This could take years.

The "we all make mistakes" thing is true. We all face consequences for these mistakes. It's just a matter of how high the idiot tax is relevant to the mistake. Some are higher than others.

In order to move forward in a way that is credible, I think if he quit alcohol 100% and joined AA, people would see this as a possible path to redemption.

I don't have all the facts, so this is only a suggestion based on what I have read here.

Everyone keeps saying his problem is alcohol. I'm kind of thinking its not an alcohol problem at all, just sayin.

Guess what everybody! I'm lucky I don't live in Florida.

This is like the 3rd PM threat I've gotten from this moron. Why do people take pinside so seriously? What would possess someone to send people messages like this? He's not the only one either.

Not sure why this kind of behavior is allowed here but that's a discussion for the mods.

Alcohol doesn't make you do anything. It allows character flaws to appear more easily. If you are a gropey misogynistic tool when you drink, you were already one before the alcohol.

#32 4 months ago

What is the backstory to this?

Yea, cowards always do that. Brave behind his keyboard, but if you guys were in a room together, he'd be looking at his shoelaces.

My motto in life, is anything I say behind someone or indirectly, has to be something I'm willing to say to them face to face.

I've also had my nose broken as a result of sticking to this... But he looked worse

I hope your husband can get the help he needs and also apologize for his behavior. I have had numerous friends and family deal with addiction and have overcome those issues. It’s an issue we sometimes don’t like to talk about - but it is something he can accomplish

Totally not comparable, a girl had her ass grabbed at a bar, unacceptable sure, but everyone is acting like she was raped. Trudeau was into kiddy porn and most likely has preyed on kids, which IMO warrents a death sentence

Not even close to the same Trudeau has legal and monetary consequences Tom has seen neither as his wife will bring in the money from the company he once made

Like it or not, our entire criminal justice system is based upon the individual, and thankfully so. There was a time where this was not true and it was a very dark time in history. People that advocate for punishing everyone in the family make it feel akin to mobster/tribal mentality.

After that the pinball community can express their opinions via their wallets.

I fully support the victim here and think of the women in my life and how they need to live in a world where they know how to kick some ass because there will continue to be people like this that have no respect for women. I wish it wasn't like this, but in general society isnt going to evolve any time soon.

#43 4 months ago

I'd be interested in the repercussions that follow this incident.

Such as what is the NW pinball show's take on this and whether they will be having Nitro back next year and beyond.
As well as what other pinball shows/events that involve Nitro will be doing.

Business as usual or ?

#44 4 months ago

What bar did this happen in, anyway?

Wife made her statement on the first post and that should have been the end of it, nothing but monkey feces will follow and there was plenty of that last night.

Facebook style drama should be confined to Facebook is all I'm saying.

It’s simple: if you don’t want to support nitro, don’t.

That is not all that happened. I encourage you to read Erin's thread, which includes the statements that she and a friend were propositioned for sex and that she was physically injured. There were multiplie witnesses to the entire incident (at Triple Knock in Tacoma, WA).

Tommy should definately have to face the consequences for his actions for sure. There is no good excuse for the type of behaviour he exhibited.

It was absolutely terrible behaviour and as a male in this community I am a little ashamed and sorry that this happened.

People saying his family and any relatives should be removed from the business are ridiculous.

They made the right call to remove him from the business but should his wife and family also be punished too?

If someone commits a crime and goes to jail do thier family members also have to serve time? Come on people!!

Punish Tommy all you want but for gods sake leave his family out of it. They are dealing with this too and I am sure it is not easy for them.

#49 4 months ago

There's another thread that fully dissects the incident, vents rage and condemnation, and casts into Hell the violater, along with anyone not moving fast enough to join the lynch mob.

I would like to see this one devoted more to mercy, redemption, penance, healing, restitution and moving forward for both people involved. Let's not wallow in this cesspool of anger and hatred indefinitely.
