I believe I've seen a mod including some extra lighting above the propellors, making them more visible.
I have owned a Tommy before, and with some help of a friend we constructed metal propellors, exactly shaped like the plastic ones. This makes them MUCH more visible (just make sure they are well polished 
) and you will also 'feel' the motor running a bit, this added up to the overall experience of the machine.
